I have probably passed Top Notch Restaurant thousands of times because. Since I live close to two other restaurants within walking distance I go to the others. I am happy that I stopped in on Sunday. I was immediately greeted with a smile by the owners granddaughter Mia. When I entered it was like a blast from the past. There were so many people inside enjoying their meals. It is a Greek owned breakfast restaurant that has an amazing menu. The selections are great! While I sat at this retro counter, two longtime customers heard I had never been there and they offered their feedback and they spoke very highly about the restaurant. They provided me with some great recommendations. One of them also talked about the the excellent work ethics of the Owners. I had the pleasure of meeting one of the Owners Chris, as I was waiting for my meal and we had a nice chat. I learned about his background, and he brought me a cup of coffee, and I ordered a veggie omelette which came with potatoes & pancakes. I am very picky about my omelettes but this one was perfect! The ingredients were very fresh. I can’t wait to go back again I have to take my dad there.

I had been here for dinner before, but I don't remember what I had ordered or what I got. Me and my significant other went for breakfast. It was very odd because it was seat yourself. I'm not used to that at all. After we were seated, the waitress was maybe a smoker? Because she was constantly coughing even while she brought our food and our drinks. We had asked her several times if she was okay and she said yes. The server we had was very rushed about everything she did. I had ordered the country fried steak. I came with a side of toast, hash browns, and of course eggs. It was oddly served on three different plates. I could have been served on two. The Experience overall was not bad. The prices for everything are extremely cheap compared to other restaurants in the area! The food is actually really good for the price. I literally had no complaints about the food whatsoever!

A simple family run diner. Clean. Decent prices. Large menu. I ordered once again takeout. My favorite entree: the breaded veal cutlet. It comes with mashed potatoes, a salad, choice of soup (I had the lemon rice) AND a dessert (I had the rice pudding). $16 total with tax. The salad is basic but fresh. I chose ranch dressing and it was fine. The soup is strong and hot. You can taste the lemon. It came with saltine crackers and two rolls. Very good. The breaded veal cutlet was HOT and covered in the best gravy. The potatoes were also great. Definitely recommend. Dessert was rice pudding. It came with a little whipped cream topping and cinnamon. Very good.

Me and my husband went to Top Notch and the service we received was poor. Initially my husband ordered the walleye dish and I ordered the veal parmigiana. After placing our order, my husband asked the waitress to make the walleye to go and that he would like the 2 eggs 2 sausage 2 slices of bacon with pancakes for now. Well, the waitress brought out the salads and soups that came with the meals. After a few minutes a different waitress brought out his 2 eggs 2 sausages 2 slices of bacon and pancakes.but not the Veal parmigiana, so I waited and wondered when would she be bringing my food, seeing that my husband had just about finished his meal, I was looking around for the waitress to come back.. finally the waitress came back to the table, but this time with a bag of food to go. I asked the waitress, where’s my food, my husband has finished his meal and I’m still waiting. The waitress said that my food was in the bag. Apparently the initial waitress was confused with the request, okay, I get that. The issue was when I told her that my food was to be eaten there, she opened the bag and proceeded to take the order out and saying to me that I could have it there, at this point, not only did I want it there or AT ALL.. I told her, just give my husband his to go order and that they could keep my meal. By now, I lost my appetite and felt pissed. So the waitress brings the order back and says “the manager said that the food was made and for us to accept it “… at this point, we have a bill with a meal that I told the waitress that I no longer wanted it there or and didn’t want it to go. My husband and I asked to speak with the manager, so we’re sitting at the table waiting for a manager to come to the table, after no one came to the table, we went up to the register and asked the guy at the register if he was the manager, initially he said, yes and I started explaining the situation, he seemingly didn’t understand, so, I asked him, are you the manager, now he says, no. We asked again to speak with the manager, then, the waitress that gave us the message came over and said, I will take the food off the bill. Oh, course, that is what you should have done in the first place, you had the meal back that I refused to accept after the long wait, after the mixup, why would you keep it on the bill. So, no meal for me and no apology for the poor service. This was definitely not TOP NOTCHED service. Poor customer service.. never experienced this before.. highly recommend customer beware. … the nerve of them to insist that...

My mother and I usually eat here and it has been good we like to try different things on the menu. So tonight we tried the roast beef and IT WAS HORRIBLE. IT WAS HARD AND BURNED. We told the busboy as our waitress was soo busy the owner was walking around and even though the bus boy told him to come see us he never came so we told the waitress and finally he came and he looked at our plates then us as we only tried one piece and I picked it up from the plate and showed him how hard it was and he shrugged and walked off......WOW.....I cannot believe how rude he was....the waitress took it off the bill and included in that mean was a salad and soup and of course she charged us for that...I have been a waitress and there are some decisions like letting the salad and soup to be given free since the completed dinner was not given to the customer's satisfaction something I would not think twice about doing and not even ask my manager or owner and I would tell my manager that ....that kind of service is inappropriate. There are way too many waitress jobs out there to have to be held by the hand on every decision you make. I understand if it is the main course but soup and salad ...come on now....and lets not even get into the manager's rude customer service skills....I think I am gonna have to find a new restaurant now....very sad....but with his attitude I wouldn't ever go back there again....I wouldn't give him a dime of my money ever again...wait till you get a bad meal there and you will see how he...

I've been to this restaurant frequently prior to covid. Went today with a friend for breakfast. I am assuming the waitress was new, she was very scattered. Friendly, but not completing one task before engaging in another one. I.e. asking if we want coffee, bringing cups , going to another table to chat, then cleaning a 3rd table and eventually getting our coffee. We did not get menus when we sat down. After about 10 minutes, and at least 8 passes by our table, she took our order. I always get the Top Notch Special but with toast. I have never had an issue till today. I DO NOT eat restaurant pancakes. They are way too sweet and the 'syrup' always seems to have the ever toxic high-fructose. Don't do jelly either. The bill for our 2 $6.85 meals came, $20 and some change. There were charges for the included orange juice and my toast. Never was charged extra till today. I paid the $1.50 for the toast, but Top Notch lost me as a customer. In this day and age of people trying to eat better, a restaurant promoting sugary pancakes should be ashamed of themselves. The waitress was friendly enough until I asked for toast. Then the owner said the special only included pancakes. So lesson learned..Covid is an excuse to reformat a menu and not offer said menus to customers. The overall restaurant was cleaner than before. But watch your...
