This place wasn’t far from me at all, so the temptation got me!
My significant other and I were able to choose our table, so that was nice. This place was small, but to the point. Our server brought us chips and salsa, as well as a tray with four sauces on it. I was also given a water. All of that stuff was complimentary. The chips and salsa were pretty good. For the sauces, there was one red and one green that were both on the liquid side of the spectrum. Besides those sauces, there was one red and one green that were both fairly thick. I enjoyed them all, especially the thick sauces. The water was decent.
I ordered a Diet Pepsi for 2.95. They had $2 Margaritas Classic Lime On The Rocks, so I ordered one of those and soon after another. The Diet Pepsi was great. I got a free refill on it that was great as well. The Margaritas were small, but they both had a good taste to them. For the price, they were definitely worth it.
We ordered Fries for 3.50 and Boss Man Fries for 12.50. The Boss Man Fries were Fries With Steak, Shredded Cheese, Refried Beans, Guacamole, Pico De Gallo And Sour Cream. I ended up ordering from the Boss Tacos section. These Tacos were $4.25 Each. From the Chicken Boss Tacos, I went with a Jerk Chicken and a Chicken Ranchero. The Jerk Chicken was Jerk Chicken, Pineapple Salsa, Siracha Crema, On Flour Tortilla. The Chicken Ranchero was Fried Chicken Tender, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, Cheese + Avocado Ranch, On Flour Tortilla. The Fries were pretty good. The Boss Man Fries were even better. They did become boring after a little bit. I enjoyed both of the Tacos in their own way. The price for each was a bit steep, though.
The service was fantastic here. Our server was very kind and she was certainly fast! She paid attention to what we needed.
Overall, this was a solid spot to try. Some of the prices were a little bit high, but nothing was too crazy. I’m almost positive I’ll be back soon!

Read moreI've never tried Boss Man Tacos before today, to my detriment. I rolled up into the drive through around noon with a couple of cars ahead of me. I waited only a few minutes. Wanting to sample a bit of everything, I ordered four specialty tacos and two street tacos and took them home. Immediately when I opened the foil I knew I was in for a treat. The tacos were full and colorful and loaded with very interesting ingredients. I thought so when I saw the menu but you never really know until you try it. Boss Man didn't disappoint. I got the Tinga, the Gringo, the Jerk, the Felipe, as well as one steak and one chicken street taco with cilantro and onion on corn. First off, the Tinga. Homemade Fritos OMG. Excellent. The Gringo, a beef-based soft/hard shell combo pasted with guac. Hell yeah. The Felipe cheesteak was salty and delicious with bits of pepper and mushroom. Very nice, though I'm not a fan of that much cheese sauce. The jerk didn't really do it for me honestly, but I found the sour flavor to be very interesting, and I always appreciate a veggie-heavy bite. The hot and mild sauces were very good. I didn't think the hot sauce was hot enough, but flavorful. The mild sauce was full of chopped fresh cilantro and reminded me of schug or baba ganoush. Yum. When I go back I'll get two or three street tacos, which were spot on, and one specialty taco. The various flavors all mixing together wasn't ideal, but I like to know what is good, and it's safe to say that probably any of these will hit the spot. Price for all of these tacos was $21. Very reasonable for what it is, and I feel completely satisfied. In fact, I didn't finish it all and look forward to...
Read moreI want so desperately to like this place as the items on the menu sound so good and are reminiscent of some taco food trucks I've had in the past. Unfortunately while the presentation was good, the food fell really short on taste. I will say that the portion sizes are on the mark and staff seem friendly.
I tried the Bloody Mary, Asian steak, and Sweet Hog tacos on my visit here all of which are on their Gourmet Tacos menu. I was really excited to dive in as they looked great on the plate.
Sweet Hog - I love pulled pork... Except when it's been overcooked and charred to a burnt toast finish. The amalgamation of slaw and onion rings were good though.
Bloody Mary - Delicious to look at and while the shrimp was cooked just right and had a nice slight crunch to them, the pork belly was devoid of any fat and was charred to an extra crispy state and I picked a good portion of the pork out and just left it in the basket. This taco should have been gold.
Asian Steak - I don't know what particular Asian flavor the beef was supposed to draw from. I struggled to pick up on the teriyaki flavor in the overcooked and tough meat.
I was so looking forward to having a good experience here as the menu has some great ideas but they fell really short on execution. If just 1 of the 3 fell short, I'd probably make this a 4 star review but to have 3 different meats turn out overcooked, dry, and challenging to chew is simply not how to do it.
I hope that they can right the ship because the concepts look so good on paper and I would like to have a forward-thinking taqueria...
