I walked in looking to get a loan on my Sony Bluetooth speaker. The younger gentleman that assisted me was not very personable, didn't offer a smile and I don't even think he made eye contact with me. He asked me the model of my Bluetooth, to which I replied "I believe it's the XS-350 but let me confirm that". He then asked me to play a song and asked about the charger. Before I could confirm the model(and you think he would have looked.himself),he told me he could give me a loan for $30. I proceeded to give him the correct model number and he had it pulled up within 10 seconds and said it last sold for $67. The Speaker is still being sold at Best Buy for upwards of $300 and I told him I was looking to get $60-$70 as I await funds to hit my account, but $40 would help. He then said , the best I can do is $35. I told him I would try a different pawn shop and EZpawn gave me a loan of $80(I was tempted to stop in and show the ticket).Anyway, I wrote such a long review because I felt tension and lack of respect as soon as I walked in to this establishment. And the fact that he was giving me an offer, before knowing the actual model number of my item, told me he had no compassion for my situation and just wanted me gone. Needless to say, I would never patronize this business again and I would encourage others like me to go elsewhere. We all need a helping hand every once in a while, and a simple smile and compassion would have gone a long way and I would have accepted the $35 as my funds are scheduled to hit my account...

I just want to say thank you for keeping my stuff safe, also for the impeccable service and professionalism usually not found in many of the more mainstream businesses that I have had the privilege of venturing into. Believe it or not, I was referred to Highland Jewelry and Loan by other pawnshops. In fact, if I happen to be in the market for occaisional odd items, gold, silver, diamonds, gemstones or whatever I might be looking for these people have it. Unlike many other places it family owned, operated, and family friendly. My experiences have felt so good and overwhelmingly safe that I really do not know how to thank Highland Jewelry and Loan except to say thank you over and over again by keep bringing in business. I once was so happy with the service, I donated money to charity in their name. I would also like to say that when you are in Highland Jewelry and Loan you can't help but notice the great smiles that come with the service. It has to be something that runs in the family, I swear I would go there when I am having a bad day just to see someone smile. The education, experience, and attention to detail on jewelry items alone are the best kept secret in the area, and have the potential to move mountains. I come here quite often and have been given decent service by the lady who works there and have a good relationship wIth the owner. My experience with them today was so bad I cannot even put it into words. The guy with the long weird tale beard was questioning me how I am getting gift cards and implying that I am a low life stealing drug addict. Number one ito none of his business where I get them which I explained which should have been extremely enough and I shouldn't have had to either. Number 2 he then said well why can't these people give you cash. This is none of his damn business. You know I am out of a job right now and sometimes you need money. Is that a crime? I don't think so. I then said politely you know I'm offended and your implying I'm stealing or whatever. He then took the gift cards and threw them in my face!!!! I was in shock and asked to speak to the owner and he wouldn't call them. He was completely disrespectful and degrading.
