This place is just a basic local diner. The food was good, came to the table hot, portions were of a good size, drinks were refilled adequately, prices were fair, and I didn't leave hungry. However, I'm starting to believe that the servers in Fayette county are not permitted to smile or have a positive outlook on life. "Going through the motions" is a good way to describe what I've seen here, and Mark C's wasn't any different from many other eating establishments around the area. SMILE PEOPLE !! For goodness sakes, everyone has problems in their lives, but Fayette county residents seem to wear their unhappiness on their sleeves for everyone to experience. Mark C's is in a great location with more than adequate parking. The parking area is well lighted, flat and in good repair. Mark C's should try to utilized it's good food and great location to encourage car and motorcycle clubs to gather during summer evenings. The cost would be minimal, but the increase in revenue could be very good. A little music, a few extra trash cans outside, open invitations to the many clubs in this area, and Shazam! Mark C's is on the map. Something similar is happening at the shopping center on Morgantown road. However, Mark C's would be a much better location with much better ingress and regress for everyone. Make your play, see if that club will move, offer a Friday special for car club and show attendees. MAKE...
Read moreWent to Mark C’s today (on a Sunday around 12:45pm) and we asked if they could seat a party of 12.
They had a completely EMPTY section in the back but told us that they “could not pull tables together on a Sunday”…. Even though they had done it in the past for another group we were with.. They also had 2 huge tables with chairs flipped upside down on top of the tables and refused to just use those tables… they had about 7 workers standing up front discussing amongst themselves about how they couldn’t do that on a Sunday - despite having the huge back section empty as could be and despite not being very busy…
You turned down a 12 person party… almost $450 that we spent at another restaurant today because you chose not to seat us despite having the capacity to do so. Just see the picture of the empty table with chairs on top
Take your business elsewhere, seems as though this small family business could care less.
IN RESPONSE TO THE OWNER’s RESPONSE: We were told they WOULD NOT pull together tables on a Sunday. Otherwise we would have waited. We didn’t mind waiting, even told your staff that…. As we left your waitresses said, sorry about that, it’s just our policy that we do not combine tables on a Sunday… Short staffed in the kitchen isn’t a reason to turn away a family of 12. Your loss. Thankfully the Paintroom in Connellsville was able to seat us no...
Read moreI was nervous at first about going here after reading these few bad reviews but I asked around the area and every person I asked said this place was amazing (swear I'm not exaggerating not 1 person has a bad comment). I gave it a try for myself and I'll tell you what the wait staff was absolutely wonderful I came in for breakfast and was waited on immediately.. my food came out perfect ( eggs done just right bacon nice and thick not the thin crap they make elsewhere, my pancakes were thick and fluffy) and very quickly. It was filled with a lot of regulars ( I could tell by the way they had their own tables and everyone knew each other's name) it was a very homey environment! Homemade good food and I couldn't believe how cheap. I see why everyone recommended it! After going there myself I'm pretty sure these people on here commenting bad stuff are full of crap they must have been bored that day and wanted to pick on a Momma and pappa establishment but that's okay because I will be back and I know a lot of other...
