Denny's — Restaurant in North Versailles

If I could give them zero stars I would.. I walked in here this evening with my boyfriend and his kids. The manager immediately got us drinks and then 20 mins had passed by and I went up to ask why we don’t have a server yet.. the only 2 waitresses working there were fighting over who was going to wait on us (neither one of them wanted to), one was leaving, the other just did not know how to waitress. period. Not once did our actual waitress even speak to us.. the girl who’s shift was over mentioned multiple times to the table in front of and behind us that “her shift has ended & that they cash out so she can get her tips” I am a waitress of 10+ years and I know for a fact my manager would NEVER let us speak like that to a customer. It doesn’t matter that your shift is over, you typically either wait until tomorrow to get your tips or you patiently wait until the paying customer leaves. However, this waitress took our order and brought us our food while the other waitress stood there trying to figure out how to split a check for 45 minutes for her ENTIRE ONE TABLE!! Then complained she needed a smoke break and demanded one from her manager. Such trash. This girl needs fired and the manager didn’t do anything either… Then my boyfriend’s daughter ordered Mac n cheese and they waited until the food got to our table to tell us they didn’t have Mac n cheese after already being there an hour. Worst service ever. I refused to pay for my food after that kind of service. Every worker in there was disrespectful as ever. WILL NEVER GO BACK!...

We went to eat breakfast on our anniversary here. Let me say the service and food were basically amazing. As soon as we came in the front doors, we were greeted and seated in seconds, and got the choice of booth or table. The food took a little bit to make but it was relatively busy. Everything tasted great and service was right there and fast when we needed. The environment was friendly, inviting, and clean. The price was very fair for the size of the dishes and endless refills on fountain drinks, teas, lemonade, and coffee. The only thing I can say is maybe they should let people know, the waiters or servers will bring you a receipt slip, you do not pay at the table, several people were sitting waiting it seemed to pay their bill. You have to collect your slip and go to the counter where you were greeted before seating, hand them the slip, and pay and tip from there on your way out. Made an order off DoorDash and called the restaurant to inform the restaurant of my dietary restriction. 2 hours later the food was done and my driver was stuck sitting there waiting for the food. Upon arrival, the driver informed me the restaurant did not even know which meals were to be gluten free. Celiac disease is a serious condition that this restaurant did not take seriously. To make matters worse, when I expressed my concern for the 2 hour wait for my driver, the staff informed us they were busy and short staffed and I could "apply for a server position if interested" Blaming a customer for a 2 hour wait of food is very unprofessional. I served for 7 years in high school and through college. I understand being short staffed but when you mess up that royally on a dietary restriction on top of a wait time of 2 hours there is no reason to put that blame on a customer....
