Let's begin with we, my wife and I on date night have been here twice. And I'm not normally one for writing reviews, but that said a Fantastic place, the atmosphere is lovely and the food is great (when it arrives hot) which it sadly didn't second time around. First time in the resturaunt: we had been seated in the beautiful atrium glassed area, very cool. Server seemed young and inexperienced. Ordered our meal and had a lovely dinner. The young girl server was clearly over her head, she didn't offer drink refills, or check on us during the meal. Again, simply inexperienced in that roll. We later learned she was a greeter turned server for the summer. Ok, i get it, people need to learn on the job. Wasn't trying to be rude, we asked for the check... thats when the confusion really began. There was a mistake on the bill. We addressed it with the young server, gave her my card and she comes back with the amended check... only its now more expensive and someone else's food order, we get that straight, leave a tip and leave. Thinking wow. That was weird... So I reached out on the phone and spoke to manager the following monday about the experience. He was very appologetic, offered us a free meal upon our return. Emailed me a card for a buy one meal get one free coupon, stating in his email that they would honor that as a free meal to us both. Just present the card to your server next time in. Ok cool we thought. That was nice, professional.
Second time in: presented the email stating the agreement is for a free meal for us both and the emailed card as per instruction from Robert the manager, to our server. Server was a lovely guy and we were super happy for a nice meal, date night. Good times, ordered the bison chile, its fantastic. Had it last time. This time it arrives stone cold, not warm, cold. Server appologized, got a hot bowl immediately from kitchen. That was great, i ordered the vodka pasta dish with grilled chicken this time. Only when it arrives, its a $6 part of a chicken breast, also cold slapped on the top of my hot pasta dish. Very unimpressed. Again had to ask for drinks again. This server was more attentive then the previous visit. So we ask for the check, they only honored the buy one get one per the card. In direct contradiction to the email provided to them.
We thought, urgh... enough. This was two times and they still can't get a bill correct. Paid the $45 check and left.
Emailed the manager back, saying we will not be back and that it was a shame his staff had let him down twice now. I'm still waiting for a response. But crickets... so thank you hanger 2 for truly poor experience two times over.
WILL NEVER RETURN OR REFER YOUR BUSINESS TO ANYONE! Shame, as I work for Bentley, would have referred guests, as the place is great. Service needs work. I wish you all well. The lack of response is poor form.
Update: I have reached out to the marketing address you mention below... Per YOUR request on the 13th of August 2024. Still crickets. I guess you really have no intention of reaching out to me it seems. Not impressed...
Read moreThis is my official review, my first one from a few years back. After first opening I didn't write, cuz I chalked my experience up to the place just opening. I recently visited the location in Vernon hills and was pleasantly surprised with the beers. Admittedly we did not eat there, but the server we had was phenomenal. Very informative. Very helpful. Very accommodating, explaining the beers to us, the concept of the food menu, etc. That inspired us to try this location again. Sadly we will NOT be returning. We went there for brunch on a Saturday afternoon around 1:00. Place was not that busy, should have taken that as a sign. Ordered the honey bee biscuits, you would expect they'd be some sort of Honey along with them, but alas they did not. The butter that was advertised as strawberry and apple cinnamon, was shortening, and not butter. There was a very distinct flavor between shortening and butter, and this was certainly shortening. I even commented when the three biscuits arrived that there was more than enough butter on this wooden plank for more than these three biscuits. Realizing now shortening's cheaper than butter. I ordered the Paco as it's a really cool idea. A taco formed with a pancake. Got the buffalo chicken one, once again, great idea, very poor practicality. The pancake was extraordinarily thick, and flavorless, and dry. The eggs were clearly made on the griddle, browned and overdone. The small size of the singular buffalo chicken strip on each paco was small, somewhat soggy, but the Buffalo sauce was tasty. The squares of cheddar cheese made the meal not look appetizing, would have been better suited for shredded cheese. My wife ordered the barbecue burger, she asked for medium. It came out well. We're not ones to ask for our food to be returned, so she went with it. Fries were not seasoned at all until she put salt on them. The burger was bland and again overcooked which clearly made it dry and chewy. I did learn that the tater tots that came with my meal were very tasty dipped in maple syrup.
Overall beers are okay, food is not good. If you want to go there for a beer and watch a game, go for it, and have some beers. Other than that, for food skip this place entirety, there are many other restaurants in Glenview that serve much better food.
UPDATE: eventually heard back from this place - only after I was looked up by an employee on LinkedIn. Very Creepy. I was told that a higher up manager would reach out to me, and I never heard back from the primary manager, or whomever - and honestly, I don't care. Really weird to have an employee check me out on LinkedIn when I am NOT in the restaurant, or brewery business. There is NO need for one of their employees to look at my profile. We will DEFITENLY never go back here, or any location. Very disappointed, and very weird to react that way to a review that really wasn't bad... I even said to GO THERE. But - yeah.. I'm done with...
Read moreUPDATE I called the following morning and spoke with the manager on duty, Matthew. He was wonderful at listening to my concerns and what happened the evening prior. The following day the general manager, Keith, called to apologize as well. He asked for me to send him an email and that he will send me a gift card and personally take care of our table next time we come in. I sent him an email the following day (Monday June 18th). Today is June 29, I still have not received anything. At this point I don’t want anything from this restaurant. They should be ashamed of the level of customer service they provide.

This was one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. When this restaurant first opened we decided to try it out and fell in love. After our initial visit our family has been there at least 4 to 5 times. Tonight was my boyfriends birthday and we chose a restaurant that we knew would not disappoint. We made a reservation of nine people. When we showed up two menus were given to us. Three of the people in our party have never been there before so two menus was very difficult for our table. It took about half an hour to get more menus. It took the server 45 minutes to come to our table and get our drink orders. The soda was flat, three people that ordered wine had to wait over 30 minutes, and three people that ordered beer never received their beer. It took an hour and 15 minutes for us to receive water; keep in mind it was 90° in Chicago today. The only reason why we received our water is because I asked another server to bring it since our server did not bring it the first three times we asked for it. We approached the manager expressing our concerns, we were given the beer sampler as a courtesy which no one in our party drank. We then proceeded to place our appetizers and the three people that ordered wine received their wine after the appetizers were already brought to the table. One person in our party ordered whiskey which never came and he ended up going to the bar and ordering it himself. Once we received our meal, all three steaks were undercooked. I personally cannot eat raw meat so I asked the manager to take my plate and put it back on the grill. The other two people in our party that ordered steak ate around the edges and did not eat the majority of their meal. Once we received the bill, there were items on the bill that we never received which I mentioned earlier in my post. The manager did not approach our table to check in on us and once we approach the manager at the end of the evening and expressed our concerns there was no remorse, there was no sympathy and there was no attempt made to try and make things right. I was very disappointed and embarrassed because I spoke so highly of this restaurant. I can assure you we will never...
