So, I recently had the pleasure of dining at Taco Verde in Glenview, Illinois, and let me tell you—it was an experience to remember! From the moment I walked in, I felt like part of the family. What really stood out to me was their commitment to quality and inclusivity. All the meats are Zabiha Halal certified, which is a big win in my book.

Now, let's talk about the food. I dove into the Surf and Turf Burrito, and oh my goodness, it was packed with flavor! The shrimp and steak were perfectly seasoned, and each bite was a delight. And don't even get me started on the Birria Taco—it was like a flavor explosion in my mouth.

But what really sealed the deal for me was the Jalapeno Cheese Fries. Talk about a game-changer! They were the perfect accompaniment to my meal, adding just the right amount of spice.

Overall, Taco Verde isn't just a restaurant—it's a culinary adventure. With its warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and mouthwatering dishes, it's definitely going to be a regular haunt for me. Trust me, you don't want to miss out...

For the price the portion size is ungodly small. Over 4 dollars for a taco was pretty ridiculous so I even asked how big were the tacos and I was told they were “pretty big”…..they were regular small tacos you get anywhere else for half the price. Shrimp taco was over cooked, chicken was dry. But the birria taco was the only one that saved my meal, it was phenomenal and I’ll give credit where credit is due. The “platter” they give is almost like a façade to hide to the small portions. I thought I was getting a whole platter of rice and beans and tacos and I got and empty platter with 3 tacos barely taking up a fourth of the space. also got a burrito that was $15+ and it was the size of a baby burrito, I genuinely feel like I got robbed here. Really tried to give this place a chance but Sorely disappointed. Though the only thing saving this place is the birria, so I guess only go for that. Oh yes one last thing, the horchata was 5 dollars for a small cup……. If you want bang for your buck just go to...

The first time I ordered online for pick-up, they didn't end up having the bottle of coke that I ordered. Initially, the employee at the front told me he could refund me for the coke and that I could walk over to the liquor store next door and buy the bottle of coke myself. Eventually, he ended up running the quick errand and buying the bottle of coke at the liquor store while I was waiting for my food.

The second time I ordered online for pick-up, I got home to find that the avocado was missing from the taco, and the elote was a cup of plain corn sitting in corn juice. I called the restaurant and the employee was apologetic and gave me the option of going back to get the accurate order or receiving a refund. I asked for the refund and she said that she would talk to the manager to comp the order.

Food is decent, and the staff is responsive and professional, but the inaccuracies of the inventory for online ordering and inconsistency in the quality of the food has been a...

We went to Taco Verde after hearing all the good reviews from my friends in chi town. It's a small privately owned taco place by an amazing young couple. I had this place on my MUST-VISIT list in Chicago. The owners were on site and were super welcoming, they suggested few of their signature dishes and we ordered them all. Steak & birria tacos are to die for and the birria pizza was super delicious. We also got the scrumptious churros (on the house) we ordered Jarritos drinks to finish our meals. My girls want to go back to try all the food again. They wish Taco Verde open their branch in Houston soon. We wish you guys all the best, thank you for your amazing food and warm customer service.

I’m a first generation Mexican American Muslim, this food definitely surprised my wife and I both. You can taste and feel the quality in the food, all halal! We ordered an asada taco dinner with only cilantro as an appetizer; quality meat, fresh cilantro, and full flavor salsa. The rice and beans were also very good, nice flavor and texture to the rice and the blanco beans were a great mix. We then ordered the famous birria pizza, which makes my mouth water to just think about. In the future every time I crave birria it will be from Taco Verde, Alhamdulillah! May Allah continue to bless them for providing the community with some amazing halal Mexican food!
