I was really disappointed with my visit to Antichuchera Danessi in Norwalk. I had high hopes based on some reviews, but my experience was completely the opposite. First of all, the service was incredibly slow and the staff seemed disorganized and uninterested in helping customers.
When I finally got my food, it was cold and didnāt taste fresh at all. The meat was tough and lacked flavor, and the sides were bland. On top of that, the portion sizes were small for the price they charge.
The place also didnāt feel very clean ā tables were sticky, and no one seemed to be wiping them down between customers. Overall, it felt like they just didnāt care about quality or customer satisfaction.
I wonāt be coming back and definitely wouldnāt recommend this place to anyone looking for good food or good service...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreAnticucheria Peruana must be Spanish for hole-in-the-wall Peruvian restaurant. This place is pretty small, looks to seat about thirty people. The decor and general environment is a bit rundown and the dining room for a weekday lunch was empty, with the exception of the waiter/owner sitting and reading the newspaper.
Despite this inauspicious first impression, the food makes up for many of its undesirable characteristics. I had a tallarin saltado, which is basically a Peruvian take on an Asian stir fry with noodles. Noodles and veg were cooked well and the beef was surprisingly tender. As with most Peruvian restaurants, you don't get out of the door for cheap, my dish plus the necessary Inca Cola, cost $15, but sometimes a good meal...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe stopped in for dinner on a Saturday craving Peruvian food. One older Latino working the register and cooking the food. He was very nice, funny, and accommodating while taking our requests and our food orders. The food was delicious. I got the Saltado de Mariscos. They were out of papa huaracaina, and the place was a bit cold. I'm not sure if the heater was out. I'm still giving the place 5 stars because my little cousin drank the liquid from her soup, and she wanted to take the chicken and noodles home anyway. He ended up filling her take home container with broth. That was very nice and special. She was happy, and that made me happy as well. Support this nice guy and his restaurant. You won't be...
