You definitely get your money's worth when dining at Flaming Buffet. There is a varied selection of food to choose from, and almost all of it is pretty good! The quality of the food, as well as the overall layout of the restaurant has improved significantly since it's former days as Hibachi Grill Buffet. I want to say that they tore down part of the back wall and placed a glass faux-flame partition. The dining areas - a seating section in front, main section by the buffet, and the rear room - very decently clean. Restrooms are down a short hallway by the front - okay clean.
We had a craving for oysters, and gave them a call to make sure they had them before heading in, and were surprised to find that they had steamed rock crabs available that particular day. It was definitely a welcome perk, but normally they have fried blue crabs available - daily. Hit and miss on the special crab, so if it's there, enjoy! The oysters were nice and fresh. Other seafood options include various shrimp dishes, crawfish, and a large sushi bar. There is a hibachi grill that includes kalbi with the build your own bowl - and it gets busy!
I love that they offer two versions of BBQ pork, one bone in, and one boneless. The BBQ pork is absolutely flavorful and cooked just right. They also offer beef ribs, which fall right off the bone, though I believe it to be oven cooked and covered in bbq sauce - definitely not the same as the pork.
I wasn't and still am not a huge fan of their steamed buns either. They're cute, with character designs, but the flavor is very lacking. Their sesame balls are filled pretty well with red bean filler and are crispy, not slimy and soggy. They also offer a very tasty filled pastry that looks like a donut hole - you'll find these in a warmer near the other desserts. The desserts themselves are your standard buffet fare, nothing amazing, but they have those single serve ice cream cups in various flavors and paletas. The fruit selection is pretty decent, although it gets messy fast. I do enjoy the jello, more on the firm side and full of flavor.
The staff is very friendly and fast. I observed quite a few conversate with their regular visitors, so it shows that they do care more than just doing their work. Our tables were frequently cleared and we rarely had to ask for any beverage refills. If you're don't feel like cooking and are looking for a decent spot for food, swing by and check it out! Kids 3-6 are about $11, kids 7-10 are about $15. Drinks are $3/refills included, and there's...
Read moreMy husband got really bad food poisoning from the seafood that he had diarrhea for 2 days and had projectile vomited all over our bathroom. He’s still sick at the moment. We honestly think it’s from the seafood in the hot buffet because my brother is fine and he ate sushi from the cold bar. I didn’t really touch the seafood so I’m okay.
We ate here after mini golfing since we were in the area. Prices were reasonable and it’s a pretty small buffet. I really liked the orange chicken and Mongolian bbq noodles. The veggies were also pretty good but Everything else was okay and lacking flavor. Ribs tasted good but meat was chewy and hard to eat. My husband said the hot seafood either tasted really salty or bland. My brother liked the sushi. Hot soups were simple. Customer service was good, bathroom was a little dirty and unsanitary, the doors and stall walls needed cleaning. Food was not consistent since it was hit or miss, the food either tasted good or not good. We’re definitely traumatized with hot seafood at buffets now. Not too sure if we will ever return here although price was not bad. If you eat here, good-luck and Godspeed, may you not experience the food poisoning...
Read moreWe went for lunch on a Friday. The price was a reasonable $15 per person, 7.99 for a 3-6 year old child, and drinks were 2.59 each. They made life convenient by having the beverage choices posted on the napkin holder. Sometimes it's the small things 😅💙, but really when you are traveling with a larger party and they can all see the options at once, it is nice. The was a large selection which ranged from salad and dumplings to chicken to salmon and including surprisingly tasty "creamy cheese shrimp". Everyone was satisfied and able to find something that they liked. There was even ice cream cups available for dessert which pleased my picky eater (She found main course things she liked too, like orange chicken). The foods that I tried were delicious. I loved that they had mackrel at the sushi station. Their fish was tender and moist. Dirty plates were bussed regularly and the wait-staff remembered the right drink choices and offered refills. Wait-staff were friendly. The decor was nice. My daughter really liked it. Overall, it was an excellent experience, and we will definitely...
