Knight Owl — Restaurant in Norway

We stopped in after the fair looking to grab a bite to eat. Bartender and waitress were friendly. Ordered a Mushroom, Pepperoni, and Sausage Calzone. The 1st one brought to me had WAY to much cheese in it and the very little sausage that was in it was raw. Sent it back and they were making me a new one. They have an exposed kitchen, which I love, as I can see what the cooks are doing as they make the food. I watched the "pizza cook" put raw sausage in a soup cup into the microwave and then put it into the calzone he was about to put into the oven. They have a beatiful brick fired pizza oven. WHY on earth would you microwave the sausage??? Toss it on a pan or some tinfoil and put it in the oven while you make the rest of the calzone. I worked for a few years in a very, very busy pizza joint. We didn't even have a microwave. When I see microwaves in restaurants it makes me cringe. The sad thing is we have eaten here before and the food was good, hence why we went back. The guy making the pizzas needs to be fired. Serving RAW pork sausage is a sure fire way of getting someone sick or killed. The cheese was clearly poor quality mozzarella as it was a runny mess on my plate. Low moisture mozzarella is a key ingredient on pizza or in a calzone. Cheese makes or breaks a pizza. Doubtful we will ever return. Sad it was a great stop on the trail...

I was new to the area and recommended to go here. I have lived with dietary restrictions and I understand not everyone can accommodate that. I went into this “restaurant,” waited over 7 minutes before the staff even acknowledged I was there. I finally got asked if I wanted something, and when I asked about non-alcoholic options, I was given rude, disgusted toned answers. I got a coke and when looking over the menu with yet again no attention paid to any customers but the immediate “regulars” I asked if they did gluten free at all. I was told yet again a rude toned manner that “we don’t accommodate gluten free here, and there’s nothing on the menu.”

I will not be going back and will never recommend such a place. I have 6+ years of service work and give plenty of credit when serving isn’t great. But this was on the worker and the boss for letting this behavior be...

I would like to give the Knight Owl a chance before I lowball them on a review. We went in Friday night for fish fry. The waitress got our drinks and took our order. While waiting for our food for about 50 minutes it was super busy so not a problem. The waitress came back grabbed my cousins drink to get another and never came back. A girl cleaning tables got us some drinks. We then got our food and we asked for silverware 5 minutes later no silverware. She never came back. Then after we got our own silverware she proceeded to sit down at a table behind us and visit with 2 people she apparently knew. This waitress is starting her own business and man I hope the service won't be like this. I will give this place another shot if it's the same I...
