I went because I loved Ari's, we used to go fairly often, their Pizza was great. This new Place however... Sadly, the pepperoni pizza is... well... mediocre, it's not horrible, but, it also isn't great. It's the kind of Pizza you can get anywhere in the state. The Pizza are cooked in the oven, directly on the stone from the look, which is probably why their pizzas get more burnt, whereas Ari's before them used to cook them inside a pan.
Extra Cheese is Extra Money, but you barely get any extra for the price. Unfortunately, the sauce is also lacking in that good Ari's Flavor, it's missing that slight sweetness the old sauce had. The Dough is spread fairly thin which may also contribute to the easier burning. The Pepperoni tend to cup up. The Pizza is a little Oily as well.
I can't recommend this place to people who are looking for a good "Ari's Pizza & Subs" pizza, but, I also can't say it's bad... It's sadly just... Mediocre... Though we will try it again down the road, just incase these pizzas are a part of a learning experience, the place is new, so they have room to grow.
Just, if you don't care for a darker pizza or pizza with burn spots, ask for...
Read moreReally wanted to like this place. High hopes considering the new owner's offerings at their other restaurant.
I thought maybe the first time was a fluke so tried again with the same unimpressive result.
The pizzas are very small and the toppings are barely existant. Flavors are just shy of hitting the mark... If the toppings weren't so skimpy they just might deliver, instead it's just a quite good crust with a decent sauce... That's all you taste!
The salad I got had the worst croutons I've ever tried. The texture made them literally inedible. It was also underwhelming, Lettuce, cheese, okayish dressing.
Ordered duck panini the second time. Again, disappointed. The duck was cooked well but the sandwich was super lacking in texture and the flavor was one note. A few bites in and I was bored with it. Serious bummer!
I don't like submitting negative reviews, and 99.9% if the time I don't. But hoping the owners will see and make improvements... The potential is there! But as of now... Overpriced, skimpy, lacking...
Read morePizza XChange in Norway Maine has new owners. A young couple just bought it a few weeks ago. We went in to try it out the day of the Art Festival in Norway. We sat on the porch and listened to the band. One of the owners brought our pizza and salad out to us. The other owner was seating some customers. They are both so very sweet and attentive. We told them we woukld be back so we went for lunch today. We got a small pizza, sourdough crust and split a salad. The salad was so fresh and delicious and the pizza was scrumptious. We got chicken and mushrooms. The cheese was so tasty, it must be a blend. They brought us out some homemade tomatoe basil soup that was planned for dinner with a grilled cheese. It was so yummy. The sweet owner asked us if it needed anything else, the answer was no. It was so good. We only went in to pizza xchange once under the old owners. These new owners are doing a fantastic job. We plan to visit often. Go in and show them some love, you will be...
