While in the Oxford/Norway area on Saturday 7-21-18 I thought I would check out a new restaurant I've never been to before. The venue is the Norway Brewing Company. They have both inside and outside dining. We choose the outside dining because it was a beautiful day-BAD CHOICE-. The house fly's were just crazy and when I mentioned it to the server, she said oh that's too bad. So we sat there swatting fly's while waiting for our 12oz $6.00 in house brew. We ordered a pulled pork bbq sandwich $12, house salad $4.00 and side of fries $2.00. The pulled pork was extremely dry and very bland. The end pcs of fries were burnt and left in the fry basket way way too long. Then when it came to the house salad I guess they were short on fresh veggies so they included the lettuce core in my salad, which was no more then lettuce & carrots-no salt & pepper on the tables. We asked for some BBQ sauce because the pulled pork was so dry-they did bring a 2oz pc of bland bbq sauce and to top it off when I received my bill they charged me $1.00 for a 2oz pc. I have traveled all over the US and to many other parts of the world and have never ever been charged for a condiment. We also asked for the fries to be redone and they did accomplish this task without issue.
To top everything off when I mentioned the charge for bbq sauce and said because you charged me $1.00 for a 2oz pc cup I would never return to this restaurant-no big deal-so what. Well I think with this attitude this business will be a short timer.
I was in the food business-restaurant owner as well- for over 25 years and I would never ever treat my customers like this because I always considered the customers who I worked for-NOT TRUE HERE!!! Randy ps-the aprons you wear should belong...
Read moreWell, when this place opened a few years ago, I was highly impressed by the beer, the high quality of the food, the service, AND the ambience. It was all perfect. WHAT HAPPENED! This is a review with hopes for returned excellence for a slipping place. We arrived late on a Saturday afternoon (Sept. 1) and it was not so busy. We were seated in their lovely garden area. And then we waited about 15 minutes for anyone to come -- and we were right opposite the door. No good restaurant leaves customers for more than 5 minutes without greeting and few more without a drink. Our waitress was S L O W. She came once to take our beer and food order, and once to deliver the bill. Someone else delivered the food. We had a falafel wrap (excellent) and a pulled pork sammich (good to excellent). The beer was odd this time and last. The Berliner Weisse was more like a sour. I have studied and made this style true to form after having it in, well, Berlin Germany (as opposed to NH!). The IPA we had was lovely other than a late after taste that is called "rotten vegetable" in the trade. We were there a couple weeks before and had a similarly poor experience. We'll not go back until we hear better things about the place. SORRY NBC, BUT PLEASE GET...
Read moreHave nothing bad to say, I had a wonderful experience tonight, Wednesday 06/25. Had my choice of tables inside as most were sitting outside. I haven't been here in years and I enjoyed seeing the changes and growth in the brewing company. They have something for everyone. My party split appetizers and it was more than enough for the table to share. The bartender was friendly, attentive, and polite. The establishment was dimly lit and the music was relaxing. I enjoyed seeing the list of sponsors and where their items come from. They have vegetarian options as well as vegan, and burgers for those who would like meat. They even have a "happy hour special" for 5$! It includes a pint of beer that is changed weekly and a small size of fries!!
Child friendly options and drinks, vegan friendly, and vegetarian friendly. They had hard spirits, beer, wine, and non alcohol options for those who want it. Their Pickle Weisse was amazing and beautifully done. They had small taster portions, pints, cans and growers of select beer. I really enjoy their use of local items in their drinks too such as ginger and lemongrass.
They have ample parking, and are...
