Friendly's — Restaurant in Norwich

Friendly’s. I have secondhand embarrassment right now. I have been fighting myself four weeks to buy some food there because of my few last orders but i caved because the food I once knew was so it. First I hate that It cost me $30 for one entrée and a kids meal. But I was dying for a Super melt so I came today. Please tell me why I paid an extra three dollars to get loaded fries that Wasn’t even a big portion Was mixed with regular fries I didn’t want (I ordered loaded waffle fries) and to top it all off 3.! I have cuts in my mouth because you must’ve gave me the bottom of the barrel. I must have only gotten 3 legitimate waffle fries, and the rest were hard pieces of waffle fries. Not to mention my daughters broccoli wasn’t even warm enough to melt the butter on top. &&& paid $18 for an entrée and the chicken didn’t even cover the whole bread? Bacon didn’t even cover? How are you charging these prices? Last time I went there I swear I was never gonna go back because I must’ve gotten 10 french fries with my entrée but I wanted to give you all the benefit of the doubt and I ordered again and I am just so displeased with every recent time I’ve gone there. When I was younger, this was my favorite restaurant and now I am embarrassed about the food quality and the food portions and the food prices. I’ve never seen something go downhill so badly. And PS- why wasn’t my sandwich cut in half it’s not even a big deal, I cut myself, but every single time I’ve ever ordered this it was cut for me. What is it to hide the chicken? Or the lack of ? Okay, let me start off by saying I will never eat here ever again. Not even the ice cream. So my friends and I get a table, and all we order is ice cream. No big deal, we are all fine with leaving a tip. When we go to pay, my ice cream is labeled as a large sundae, instead of just a large ice cream. The lady hears me complain, and proceeds to tell me that a large 3 scoop sundae is cheaper than three scoops of ice cream. Can someone explain that to me? I’m still confused. Anyway, we ask to split the bill three ways, not evenly, but to pay what we each got. She comes back after splitting it and tells me that I owe my friend 7$. My friend and I were so shocked, that we could barely respond. And then she says again, “you owe her $7.” I’m wondering if she’s on drugs because all we did was each give her our card, so how could I owe anyone but the establishment money??? She told us that she dropped my card on the ground and then swiped my friend’s card twice. And then expected us to just deal with it... who does this?? Isn’t it common sense to void out the wrong debit card and then charge the right one instead of charging my friends card and essentially stealing it to pay for mine? And then she asks if we are friends. Tells me I can just give her the $7? I don’t carry cash on me and anyway it’s not my responsibility! She’s the one who owes her the $7!!!!! If you want a bad night, by all means go to friendly’s near Norwich town and yantic. You’ll regret...

I gave this restaurant 2 stars instead of one because there are a few waitress staff that are amazing at what they do, even to the point of remembering who you are and your favorite meals to get.

Otherwise this is how my review of this establishment starts... The only reason why this place would seem half appealing to go to would be for there half off breakfast, which would just equal to a normal diner's place, but anyways the prices seemed worth it.

Now that this promotion is gone, this place is not worth paying full price for, and I'm not too sure if the food is completely sanitary, and the cooking staff seem very unprofessional.

The first incident was when my wife received her eggs and there was old green grease on it, perhaps from the day before or even from a part of the cookware, because it looked like mechanical grease....

Also I deliver food in there behalf via ridesharing services, and let me tell you, I have never seen an more horrible work station ever, and this is where the make the ice cream and it's open for the costumers to see.... Theres banana peels everywhere, dripping ice cream all over the table, chocolate fudge everywhere, candy wrappers, the surfaces, you really couldn't even see, so bad I think I lost my order under the heap of trash on table.

This tells me if what you can see from there work station looks Atrocious, what does there cooking areas look like, areas we cant see...

Be careful when purchasing...
