Our recent visit to Edelweiss German American Restaurant was nothing short of exceptional! For appetizers, we started with the Bavarian Pretzel, which was perfectly soft and served with two delicious dips—a Stella Artois gouda cheese dip and a sweet and spicy honey mustard. Both were a perfect complement to the pretzel and got us excited for what was to come. For our main courses, we tried the Edelburger and the Schnitzel Sandwich. The Edelburger was a standout—juicy, flavorful, and cooked to perfection. The brioche bun and the swiss cheese elevated the dish even further. The Schnitzel Sandwich, with its crispy chicken schnitzel, fresh lettuce and tomato, and a delightful buffalo sauce, was equally satisfying. Both were hearty, well-balanced, and absolutely delicious. Dessert, however, stole the show. We had the Apfelstrudel, a German classic made with thin sheets of flaky pastry wrapped around fresh apples and nuts. It was served warm with French vanilla ice cream, caramel sauce, and whipped cream. According to my daughter, this was the best Apfelstrudel she has ever had, earning a well-deserved 11 out of 10! Our amazing server recommended the Weihenstephaner Vitus, a beer that perfectly complemented our meal. It was smooth, refreshing, and a fantastic choice to round out the experience. Edelweiss is a true gem, offering authentic German-American dishes with top-notch service. We’ll definitely be returning for more! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy spot with incredible food and drink.

Sometimes dining at an ethnic restaurant can be a little daunting. Will it be what you remember from your childhood? So you cross your fingers and dive in! At Edelweiss, you won’t be disappointed. The atmosphere makes you feel that you have walked into a German bier stube and that is a good thing. It is impeccably clean and spacious. The staff is so friendly and professional in wanting to give you a relaxing and enjoyable meal. They know how to space the timing of the food and reassure you to take your time. The potato pancakes are the perfect starter along with a stein of DAB. Light and fresh tasting. The goulash soup had me at the first bite with all the flavors being balanced and no trace of a heavy paprika taste. The veggies and meat were diced nicely so every bite had you getting a total experience. The sauerbraten, red cabbage and spaetzle were served piping hot and again, the tastes blended perfectly. The pork schnitzel and German fries were fried to a delectable crisp and NOT greasy or dry. The German fries were tender and tasted so fresh. It would not be complete without a slice of Black Forest and German chocolate cake. Both had a tender crumb and fresh whipped cream no aerosol can - the real thing. This is a place to enjoy with 2 or 20 people and it’s meant to enjoy over and over again.

The pretzel and potatoe pancake appetizers were good. The main entrees were not as good. We ordered the edelweiss platter which includes a beef roulade, pork tenderloin, bratwurst, and schnitzel. The roulade was the best part of the platter with juicy tender beef and an excellent gravy. The schnitzel was overcooked and dry, without much flavor. The pork was juicy but a bit lackluster. The bratwurst was ok, but not exceptional. The other meal was the wurst platter which included 2 sausages- knockwurst and cheddarwurst. Both of the sausages were good, but the side dish of german fried potatoes was sadly undercooked. The potatoes were so varied in size with some 1/2 potatoes size chunks and other thin slices and others in between. Very poor quality prep work which basically guaranteed a bad results. Dessert was a souffle with apples and a vanilla custard sauce. The souffle was light but a bit grainy. The vanilla custard appeared broken, with large lumps. Flavors were ok, but texture was gritty and unpleasant.

I haven't tried a lot of German food but now I will be because Edelweiss has convinced me! You can't miss the restaurant! It's got this German cottage look. The Bavarian pretzel was sooo good! I'd come back for that alone! It was giant and the beer cheese was beering for sure! If you love beer cheese, then you've found your match! We also did the sausage sampler. Not bad. I like the cheese knackwurst the most. I also really enjoyed the live entertainment. The singers/musicians had a set list and they also came out and had people blow into a German horn and made a fun time out it. The decor definitely reminded me of tradition Germany. For entrees, we did the edelweiss platter and hackbraten (German meatloaf). If this is your first time here, then the idolize platter is definitely the way to go because you try a lot of their popular items and you get a lot of common German sides, too. The hackbraten was played super nicely. The meatloaf was the star for sure and the gravy was a nice touch.

Have not been here in years. I grew up blocks away. Meet a old friend from high school that I haven't seen in 40 years and was celebrating my birthday. From the moment we walked in we were treated special. Even though the server was the only one there, she was pleasant and attentive and very patient with all our questions. The manager or maybe owner checked in with us. We started out with a spinach egg drop soup. It was phenomenal! I believe there was couscous in there too. I got the pork medallions with my sides of red cabbage and spaetzle. My friend got salmon with sourkrout. The pork was very tender and flavorful. The cabbage was cooked perfectly and the spaetzle was light. I tasted the sourkrout and it was outstanding. We splurged and had a dessert. The carrot cake was very good. This restaurant is authentic and a gem. They gave us a free dessert for my birthday and an apple shot for the celebration! Please support this establishment!
