Gerry's Place — Restaurant in Norwood

I never write reviews, however I was so disappointed that I felt compelled. Went in around 7pm on a Saturday evening with a small party of four. Service was deplorable and disrespectful, from the hostess to the servers. Dining room was not full, yet we were ignored for quite some time. Drinks took forever to come out and then remained empty for quite some time before any acknowledgement of possibly getting a refill. Food was very basic, took roughly an hour to come out. Chicken was dry and rock hard, Burger was tasteless, bacon was burnt to a crisp. Buns were not fresh, could have been used as a hockey puck. Worst part was the fact that I actually had to pay for such terrible service/meal when I know for a fact that I could have gone down the road to another local spot and have impeccable service. Food was horrible, and so was the service. Waited over 20 minutes just to order drinks, another 15 minutes we place orders for appetizer and dinner. Appetizer platter was cold potato skins were dry chicken wings for overcooked. It took well over 45 minutes and two complaints after the appetizer arrived for our dinner to finally be brought to the table. My friend had salmon which did not taste fresh at all and I ended up having a chicken sandwich which taste it truly horrible to the point I did not eat more than one bite of the whole sandwich. Went for a Friday lunch with a friend. We sat in the bar area. Service was good and as the bar filled up, there was only the bartender, Taylor, to take food orders, pour drinks at the bar and check on the diners. Despite the increasing number of diners, Taylor managed to do a good job. That being said, I thought the food was poorly prepared. I had the B.L.A.S.T. sandwich (bacon, lettuce, avocado, swiss cheese & tomato). The bacon was chewy and underdone, the lettuce was soggy and the multigrain roll was crumbly, not fresh and fell apart when biting into it. Would definitely not order again.
