I remember Italian Delight when it first opened in Ignacio, it was way beyond good. I was there every chance I got. I was 13 back then. I just turned 56 and couldn't wait to go back to my old friend Italian Delight, being I moved away for many years. I couldn't wait to get my order in! I was surprised there was no line. Parking as well as the entrance is wheelchair accessible but definitely not wheelchair friendly. The whole "Italian Delight vibe" was gone. A cold interaction with a preoccupied gal without a drop of any interest for customer service was what I experienced. A line behind me, at some point, snuck in while I was trying to comprehend what happened to one of the greatest places I had ever eaten at. As I waited for my order I watched every single person in line, that came in after me, order and receive their food before they had even started my order! I didn't give it the energy to make it an issue because I knew what I was waiting for, the sandwich straight from heaven! NOT ANYMORE! The only thing that has remained unchanged is the name "Italian Delight" which is clearly the only thing of any value at this generic replacement. The food no longer represents the greatness, heck it doesn't even deserve this...

The concept is simple, the location is cozy, the execution is consistently solid. But when a homey, inexpensive sandwich shop can surprise you with a satisfying plate of spaghetti and a surprisingly tasty cheeseburger, there's a certain kind of magic there.
If you're looking for a new spot to add to your usual work-lunch rotation, or if you happen to be travelling through this sleepy suburb on your way to someplace that's bigger and brighter, you'd be doing yourself a favor to duck into this place to...
Read moreI have gone to this place for roughly 35 years and it is still the best steak sandwich on this planet. The staff there is always super friendly and the manager lady is awesome. I went there today and jokingly asked them if they wanted me to go get them a bag of ice cause it was so hot and she responded fine. I like hot yoga. They are always so pleasant. She remembered my name for years, and I can’t say enough about the consistency of the food for the last 35 years and the current owner And his manager and her staff. I don’t even live in town anymore and I always come here because the food is that good. I think they have mastered the sandwich industry. They are great. The food is great so I always feel great after I leave there. You should only go to this place for sandwiches for the rest of your life and I guarantee you, your belly...
