Taqueria Mi Pueblo III: A Delicious and Authentic For over eight years, Taqueria Mi Pueblo III has been my go-to spot for authentic Mexican cuisine. What I love about this restaurant is its dedication to traditional flavors, with many dishes staying true to their Mexican roots and avoiding the typical Mexican-American fusion style. This is especially true for their unique soups and specials. On our recent visit, we tried the Albondigas (Mexican Meatball Soup). While I wouldn't normally order meatball soup, this version was surprisingly delicious! The hearty broth and flavorful meatballs were incredibly satisfying. My absolute favorite dish at Taqueria Mi Pueblo III is the Molcajete, unfortunately, they were out of it on our visit. For those unfamiliar, a Molcajete is a traditional Mexican mortar and pestle made from volcanic rock. It's used to grind various ingredients like chilies, garlic, and tomatoes, creating rich flavors that enhance the dish. The Molcajete dish itself is a hearty and flavorful creation featuring a variety of ingredients like beef, pork, chicken, chorizo, vegetables, and a blend of spices. It's typically served sizzling in the Molcajete, allowing you to mix the ingredients to your liking. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. While we usually enjoy the outdoor seating, it was too cold on this occasion. The indoor area, though small, is comfortable, and the service is fantastic. Our server was incredibly friendly, patiently answering our questions and ensuring our special requests were met. If you're looking for an authentic and delicious Mexican dining experience, Taqueria Mi Pueblo III is a must-try. You won't be disappointed!

f you've never been there, you need to fix that! This is a great family owned chain of restaurants and the downtown location is great as it has a nice outdoor seating area. Interesting fact, it used to be a Taco Bell back in the day. Anyhoo, back to the food. DELICIOUS! The rice and beans actually have flavor (which is a great barometer of how good a mexican place is) and not bland or too watery on the beans. My family loves the lengua and chimichanga's. I'm more of a taco person myself but also love their burrito size/proportion. It's not too much, not too little. I LOVE their Al Pastor and Carne Asada. Both are flavorful and cooked well. Its easy to burn the Pastor as it often has a sweetness to it. Never happens here. In closing, go check it out. The weather usually always cooperates here in the Northbay and you can get a slice of the Downtown Novato Vibe. If you have kids, take them to the bookstore next door afterwards and get them a book. It's a great spot, it'll benefit the kids as well as the local economy ;-P

First problem I came across was the sign they had up (please wait to be seated) I stood their for about 10mins while they were all in the back having a comedy hour. 2nd. I ordered a fountain drink that was $3.00 and according to the menu it had free refills. Nope! They did not because it was Jamaica (out of a fountain) 3rd. I ordered tacos “Plain” I get them with everything on them. I only had 10 mins left on my 30 min lunch break, so I just wiped everything off and ate what I could as cilantro and onion where drowning my ittybitty taco. 4th. OMG! Taco Tuesday special came out to be almost $30 dollars For one drink with refill $6.00 3 tacos 1 lettuce taco and Rice and beans OVER PRICED Or maybe OVERCHARGED!! Either way, Never Again! Word of advice. Check or ask for prices. Taco Tuesday “special“

DO NOT ORDER OUT. Generally this restaurant has alright food, but that quickly goes from alright to terrible when ordering out. Just the other night we ordered tacos, burritos, nachos, a a couple other items to go. When we got home, it was a disaster. First off, I normally don't ever order nachos to-go anywhere because with all the stuff they put on it the nachos will be soggy by the time you get them home. I tried to warn my family against it, but they insisted. I don't even know where to begin. All the food we ordered was an absolute disaster when we opened it up at home. The meals were all placed on paper plates. The plates were wrapped in foil, then the food was placed on the plate, and after that the plate with food was also wrapped in foil. If the food is hot and fresh you would know that there would be steam coming off the food. If it is all tightly wrapped in foil there is no moisture escaping, leaving any tortilla or chip to absorb the moisture and become very soggy. You could not pick anything up without a spoon. My tacos were swimming in liquid, it was almost a soup. The nachos were also so soggy you needed a fork or spoon to eat them. Soggy tacos and nachos aren't the most appetizing meals one looks forward to at the end of the day. The burritos were not as soggy but they were close enough. Also, the burritos were stuffed with so much rice it was hard to notice anything else having been put in it. We were beyond disappointed in this meal.

This has not been the case when we have dined in at this restaurant. The service is fast and friendly. The food is fresh. I can't complain about dining in. I would only cation others not to order take-out from this restaurant less you enjoy soggy, soupy...

PLEASE READ ! I am not one to complain and usually keep myself from returning food even when taste or service is poor. However this overall experience was just horrible. My husband and I were in town and decided to eat here since were we live there are two locations and know the menu pretty well. Upon entering we weren’t greeted nor clear direction on if we were to be seated (since our intent was to dine in) or seat ourselves. Or order first then be seated . So I kindly asked the gentleman and explain it was our first time at this location. He was rude just told us “ ok what do you want , yea yea just sit down but only if you are eating here”. We sat down ordered our food and drinks. I already felt very uncomfortable with being there after the guy was just rude and disrespectful. But decided to stay. My food and drink was okay but my husband drink had no taste ( literally lime and water ) and after 2 bites in finds a long black hair. We bring it to the attention to the guy and he starts laughing and response was “oh no well nothing happens you know . It only happens about 3 times a year “ . Yup apparently 3 times a year they let this happen and no true accountability taken . Idk about you but having a meal with strands of hair in my food is not okay. They did their part in removing his meal and drink from the tab . But I felt so disrespected. We immediately paid and as we were walking out he continued to laugh and say to his co workers “Aw poor guy he got a strand of hair in his food man just bad luck”. Never will I return here and recommend others don’t as well unless you want to be 1 of the 3 apparently that will get hair in...
