Homestyle Peruvian & Hawaiian cooking at it's finest! My Hawaiian wife said it was life eating at her aunties. Simple dishes, with big flavor. I loved the spicy poke bowl, and my wife repeatedly had the teriyaki chicken plate. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the chickens were fun to watch while we waited for our order. Be warned the chickens have been known to jump on the tables and snag your food! Subbing one star because we arrived and they said they were out of lettuce, but served us food at full price with simply "more rice". I suppose it's the nuance of eating a small local food truck, but it would've been nice to either provide "more meat", reduce the price (probably trickier), or just say "SOLD OUT". Could we have gone elsewhere? Unfortunately no, my wife was dead-set on the teriyaki plate that night, and not a lot is open past 6PM on North Shore. I highly recommend it though, definitely worth a try when in the area!

After we hiked to the Waimea Falls and the Botanical Gardens, it was time to find some food. There are several food trucks in this area, but Aji Limo looked to be real, authentic Hawaiian food. I had the House Bowl with seared marlin, tomato, onion, corn, sushi rice and some salad greens with their house dressing on top. My wife had the Banzai shrimp tacos with cabbage, carrots, red bell pepper. Kids split the “fish and chips” with marlin and rice. My in-laws also ordered here and had the Yasaitame, like a chicken fried rice dish. We found a picnic table, had a seat, and waited for our food to be prepared. We were there in mid-November, so it was fairly mild but warm so we enjoyed the outdoor dining. I can see this place being busy in the height of tourist season, though, so wait times could vary. Overall, this was one of my favorite meals on the island of Oahu.

Came here for lunch! YUMM! We got a spicy poke bowl and the shrimp plate. The poke bowl cam with a lot of ahi and salad and rice. Very yummy but when I got to the end of the bowl my rice and salad was almost drowning in sauce. If we come back and I order this again I'll definitely remember to mix well before I eat or just eat around the sauce. A little too much sauce for me. The shrimp plate on the other hand was AMAZING! The flavour of the shrimp was fantastic. Fresh and flavourful totally brought out the sweetness of the shrimp! Although I thought it was slightly pricey as there were only 7pcs of shrimp in that $15 plate. They had an assortment of soda here as well (Aloha juices, soda, and water). All in all would definitely recommend trying this place! Great flavours and a really cool atmosphere to eat in.

On vacation in Hawaii with the family we had heard endlessly about a restaurant for Thai food. Unfortunately... Or fortunately since we found this truck.... it was closed when we got there. Disappointed, we set out in search of a good place to eat. Thankfully, we stumbled across Aji Limo. The atmosphere is great... Nice breeze off the ocean, lots of outdoor seating, and the smell of excellent, fresh seafood. The owner walked around and talked to everyone, and the entire staff was friendly. My wife and I ordered the spicy tuna poke bowl and the shrimp yakisoba. My son ordered the garlic shrimp. Everything was extremely fresh... I have to say, we have had poke in several places on the island, and this was head and shoulders better than any other. My son, who is very picky and I thought would hate everything, destroyed his shrimp. My daughter, who is admittedly more adventurous than my son, picked off ours. By picked, I mean she ate half of our yakisoba. When we come back to Hawaii, we will be...

$20 gets you a paltry plate of yakisoba that, in my experience, was missing ingredients. The in-person menu doesn’t list the prices of the plates and the latest menu I could dig up online lists the chicken yakisoba at $16, so… pretty shocking, to say the least. Perhaps this is a normal practice in Latin America, but it felt deceitful to me.

The food was decent, but absolutely nothing your average 12 year old couldn’t whip up. The only discernible flavors in the entire dish were cooking oil and soy sauce. Since the portions are miniature, I had to stop somewhere else afterwards to satisfy my appetite. I might be inclined to give a 5 star review if the pricing was in line with reality, but this establishment appears to be a tourist trap. Pretty nice outdoor seating though. Maybe if the owners spent more time working in their own restaurants instead of farming out the labor, the prices wouldn’t be so outrageous, Ave the food might have some flavor. Gotta pay for that ginormous family and house in Pupukea...
