Kalbi On Fire — Restaurant in Oʻahu

Located on the North Shore of Oahu, 'Kalbi on Fire' churns out some pretty darn special meat. The portions here are large & the Kalbi Ribs are tender & jammed full of flavour.

I've been here twice in as many years, both times ordering the Mandu Dumplings to start & the Kalbi Ribs, served with glass noodles & mac salad. Both are outstanding & the sides provide a great balance to cut through the huge flavours of the ribs.

Food was not bad, but as a person who has eaten a lot of Korean-style galbi, its food is never above average. Also it is the first restaurant I ever experienced that sells a $20 food but is reluctant to give plastic knives and forks. They were very unfriendly even when I ordered and when I asked for another plastic fork they replied very bluntly and refused. Their rule: only one plastic fork and knife was given for each menu. Came here as found Giovanni's Shrimp Truck disappointing. Glad we found it as super impressed. We ordered the kalbi And BBQ chicken combo, came with rice and noodles. Super flavourful, had a sweetness to the marinade and well cooked. Came with rice and noodles which were both cooked well, noodles had similar sweet flavoring as the meat. Fast service.
