First time coming to Kickin Kajun and we were happy with our experience! First off, they seem to follow all the Covid guidelines well. Tables are spaced apart, workers are all masked, they don't pack the place with customers, and they clean up after each customer. They even have a QR code you scan to access the menu rather than handing you one, which I enjoyed. We ordered mozzarella sticks for our starter, fried oysters with garlic fries, popcorn shrimp with parmesan truffle fries, calamari with Cajun fries and a 1 pound of shrimp with their "da mix" sauce. Everything was fried well, and not oily. The fried oysters were DELICIOUS and the mozzarella are no joke the best mozzarella sticks I've ever had. The calamari and popcorn shrimp were tasty, but nothing too amazing. The fries were good, with the Cajun fries being the best in my opinion. The garlic fries.. Wow. Would you like fries with your garlic? I've never seen so much garlic on a single dish before. Garlic lovers will rejoice, but it was a little much for my taste. They give you a lot of fries and not too much of the protein which makes me a bit sad. The shrimp with da mix sauce was good, but the flavor of the sauce didn't penetrate into the shrimp at all. You need to peel your shrimp, then dip it into the sauce for a bit to get that flavor. The shrimp was also a little overcooked, but I'd rather have them over done than under. Customer service was also spot on. Tristan (sorry if I spelt your name wrong) was attentive and kind. Overall, I enjoyed Kickin Kajun and plan to return! Flavors were good, comfortable atmosphere, and I need more of those oysters and mozzarella sticks in my life!

I'd give 3.5 stars if I were given the option. The food isn't bad at all. After all, you can't go wrong with streamed seafood. The location is good as well. When we got there, finding a parking stall and getting a table was quick and easy. But the problem was the service. The place was not terribly busy. But we were sitting there for a while before someone came over to take out orders. Then it was another long wait, about 30 minutes, for the food to come. I don't know if it required that much time to cook the food. Maybe it did. But some warning could have made the experience much better. So the service was not bad, but very slow.

Mistakes happen but it sucks when it happens to you. We ordered dungenese crab and 2lbs crawfish as takeout. When we got home I noticed the crawfish felt a little too light. I threw it on a food scale and it was short over 1 lbs. I usually order 2-3 lbs of crawfish every other week and a pound of crawfish is not cheap in HI. We are already over paying for these mudbugs here so getting ripped almost $20 bucks is not ok. How does this even happen?

I have been going here since they opened up and Iong story short, I would recommend this as one of few seafood boils on the island that is consistent in all aspects.

Pricing for me is seemingly higher than other reviews but when I go here with my friends/family, we come hungry. I will say though, cost to quality is not worth it for certain items. My only specific “complaint” is their “fried baskets” are packed with your sides and barely any of the actual items you ordered.

Service has been consistent - of the many times I have dined in, which is probably 30 at this point, I have had one indecent server serving us, all the other times they have been so friendly and accommodating.

Busy or not, your orders are fulfilled in less than 30 minutes - quickest I have experienced was 15 minutes for 6 pounds and 2 orders of apps.

Alcohol is cheaper vs other restaurant . Definitely recommend their mixed Soju pitchers, alcohol ratio is respectable and also tasty, so if you have a group, just order one or two...

I cannot say enough about this location. The staff is excellent and Ty is out favorite the fish basket is the best on the island, and I have tried dozens. The fries, whether garlic, truffle, or sweet potato (ones we have tried) are not greasy or heavy. The fish has almost no breading!! Thats huge! Their lager, “Kickin’ Ale” is crisp with no after taste (unlike Maui Bikini Blonde). We have had the catfish po’Boy, and the seafood boil with mussels and shrimp. Everything has been timely, served hot, and delicious. Every time we visit Windward Mall we have to eat here. Even the coleslaw is light and refreshing without being coated in Mayo and onions like most on island. They serve beer and hard seltzers, see pic for the list, and they ate working on their wine and liquor license now. Oh, did I mention the covered patio? Perfect summer breeze locale after a long day of shopping LOL, or beach time. It must seat 30-40 out here. This is NOT a greasy spoon. Go! You wont be disappointed. ...
