Gyu-Kaku — Restaurant in Oʻahu

We used to love this place soooo much! Used to be our lunch place for literally years. But today the experience was just A LOT. We got all u can eat for almost $37 person. We waited 20min to only get one ordered placed. The girl didn’t grilled properly and even when I asked her to do so she just pretty much told me I’m grilling wrong and that’s why it gets sticky like whut 💀. We were only able to order three times before they told us out time was out. Like we were waiting for our food MORE than we were actually eating it!. Rice was cold. We can’t even say the meat was worth it because the seasoning was just so bad ! Too salty in some or NO flavor at all in others. We paid near $120 for both all u can eat and we feel they just ripped us off. This experience was just enough for us to NEVER come back again. If u want a good all u can eat we totally recommend GEN Korean BBQ at Ala Moana. Price is better. Food is better. Staff is a LOT better. This is just ridiculous I feel they are getting worse and worse and we didn’t even go in...

The evening started, with our waiting 20 minutes to be seated, having made dinner reservations in advance. Needless to say, it was indicative of how the service would be. The sides came out 1st, with nearly a 15 minute wait, until the next side or dish. Atleast 30 minutes before the main entrees were served. Our server topped my water glass and rather than holding the glass from the mid section, he held it from the rim, where we drink from. Yes, he was wearing disposable gloves, but really, how often do you think he changes them along with all the other patrons he served? Menus are hard to read. I'm older, yes. However, one of my daughters have 15/20 vision and the lighting is so dark, she too had difficulty. Bring yourselves magnifying glasses and write down your order and the length of time to be served. There was a hostess that works there, i think her name is Jackie, she was tallish and skinny, was incredibly rude and incompetent. After making us wait hour and a half, she ended giving our table to someone else. When we asked her, she said another table was being cleaned. After another 20 minutes, she showed us a dirty table near the bathroom. Lol. We hardly even said anything to her, why would she disrespect like that? We had 2 children under 2 who were also hungry. Shes obviously not a people person, but really... children? We politley left before ordering. If the quality is anything like this employee I'd say find another restaurant.

I'm sure the owner is a good person. But it is a shame his employees chase away...
