UPDATE: I’ve been here a couple of times and always enjoy their food here.
Unfortunately its been a while since I last ate here, I can’t recall exactly what I had last. What I do remember was that their fried chicken was on point. I also really enjoyed their curry, papaya salad, fried rolls, drunken noodles, pad thai, and thai iced tea.
We have frequented Rajanee and Phuket Thai in the past. In comparison, this place probably beats them all on flavor. Still on the pricier side though.
ORIGINAL: I have been here a couple of times for lunch. My family really likes this place, but I have to say that I am not that impressed.
Their papaya salad is really good. Their green curry is decent too. I felt like their pad Thai was missing something. Their spring and summer rolls were okay, nothing to really rave about.
Their staff was really friendly and helpful. But I think their food is a little pricey.
All in all, I would come back here because it's the best in my area but if I had a craving for really really good Thai, I would rather satisfy...
Read moreThe lobster garlic curry was a no go for me. The lobster was almost inedible and I struggled to chew it.. the garlic curry had no taste what-so-ever. If the waitress didn't tell me I had ordered calamari, I wouldn’t have known I was eating it. Practically all breading (though the sweet side-sauce had good flavor). My wife ordered the Pad Thai and told me she wouldn’t get it again.. The Thai Soup was actually quite decent and earns a star - and the size was awesome. I leave the other star because I hear good things. I am hoping when I return I have a better experience..
When I hear Thai food I expect FLAVOR! I also usually expect at least some presence of spice of heat.. I had no flavor or heat what so ever.. I didnt know what I was eating. It’s hard to make something with no taste... but they did it. I rarely leave a negative review, but I cannot honestly give Thai Village one.
Service was good. Food was fast. It just wasn’t cooked/prepared well.. Will try again and update...
Read moreMy family and I ate at the Thai Village three times during our week long vacation in Hawaii.. Everything was delicious! The Pho and Ginger soup were great. We also had summer rolls, spring rolls, and calamari and they were very tasty. The calamari was a very nice treat. I live in Minnesota and the calamari is not often as good so far from the ocean. I also ordered spicy pad thai and it came very spicy. Just keep in mind if you ask for spicy it will come very spicy. The other dishes I ordered did not have such a high level of spice. My daughter does not care for spicy food and she could easily eat the Pho & Ginger soup. She also had a kids meal one time that was tasty but not as good as the rest of the food. I should also note that my spicy pad thai was great but it was face melting spicy (for my Minnesota mouth). The price is high at times but I did not mind it for the quality of food. The service was also quick. I...
