Called to order takeout. Wor Gau Gee min, because I have a cold. She doesn’t tell you on the phone that you have to purchase at least $10 to use a debit/credit card. I would have gone to the ATM. My total was $9.something. I asked my boyfriend if we should go to the ATM. She rudely interrupted us repeatedly telling me that I had to buy a soda, buy soda. We don’t drink soda, that’s why we were discussing whether or not we’d go to the ATM. We got irritated, bought the soda. Then I asked her for just mustard. She grabbed the shoyu/mustard container out of my hand. I told her that I wanted that shoyu and that I’d like just extra mustard on the side. She walked away and abruptly said, “I will add it inside.” The container is a 1/2 oz. size, not much room for how much mustard I like in my soup. She is very rude. She did not even thank us for our business. I’d rather give ZERO STARS. We will not be going there ever again. When we got home, no chopstick, no soup spoon, or napkin in the bag. There was no one in the restaurant, I wonder why. Read the rest of their...
Read moreTERRIBLE customer service! TERRIBLE OLD & HARD CAKE NOODLE. BEWARE. Yesterday late afternoon, 8/9/24, I paid for the house special noodle, paid extra for cake noodle. The lady cashier was friendly & happy to take my money. I asked for hot mustard sauce on the side, lots of us locals enjoy it. The order came out plus a teeny tiny plastic container of a soy sauce with barely any mustard. I asked the cashier for another container of mustard only... then she growled, raised her voice and said "no more!" I pointed to the pure mustard in the container sitting on a nearby table. Then she told me to fill my own tiny container and told me to "do it " When I asked another service worker for an empty container he said "we don't have any?!" Got home only to discover that the cake noodle was old & hard as a rock! Too bad there is no option for zero star grade. I am NOT ever going back there again! I am definitely taking my $ & my business elsewhere. ...
Read moreExcellent pei pa tofu, which they called House special tofu, except it wasn't quite shaped like a pei pa instrument, nicely seasoned and sauced and cooked mapo tofu, good string beans with pork, and excellent bitter melon with pork in black bean. Tender, but slightly dry roast duck. Chinese restaurant-friendly staff (meaning they want to know who you are, where you're from, what you do, what is your relationship to the woman you came with, and to the last person she came with, etc. "Brusque, friendly-nosey"), somewhat dated interior but functional. Plenty of free parking. A diamond in the rough. I brought the lei for mom! No leaves, so probably from tea bags, tea, which was serviceable. If you know what to order in a Chinese restaurant, the food is quite good. If you are ordering fried stuff with sweet sour sauce or a special deal luncheon plate with x number of choices, of course it will be mediocre. Those are not...
