Thai Zapp 2 — Restaurant in Oʻahu

I was really hopeful since this business moved from a food truck to a restaurant space, and they are 3 mins down the road from me, but unfortunately this will likely be my first and last order. My go-to Thai order is pad thai and panang curry. The pad thai noodles were a bit overcooked and only came with mung beans and shaved carrots. I love to have a bit more veggies, so it was a bit disappointing. I ordered over the phone, and there was no question about spice level for either dishes, which was red flag 🚩 #1. Panang curry came in a soup container with a side of jasmine rice in a small clamshell container. Half the rice was nice, the other half was dry and crunchy, probably the last of an older batch. I was really excited about the coconut shrimp, so me and my girlfriend ordered it which was not cheap, around $15. Expecting it to be really good but it was probably the worst food that has ever been served to me at that price. Some rice, cabbage, a little Mac salad and 5 pieces of shrimp, and the shrimp was just awful. The sauce was literally ketchup…Heines ketchup. I’m usually not the person to complain but I felt it was necessary. I told the management in the truck that my food was bad and that I would have paid maybe 4 bucks for it. They just shrugged it off told me no one has complained before, rolled her eyes and walked back into the truck. It would have made sense to act like that if I was rude about it but I wasn’t. Thai Zapp was the worst customer service I’ve had in a long time. I usually can give someone the second chance but the food wasn’t good enough for the attitude and poor hospitality. No wonder no one was eating there. I walked in and got no greeting, went to order and got attitude when she asked what protien I wanted, and she immediately walked in the back after she spun the iPad around to charge me. No thank you and not even a word when I asked if there was chop sticks in the Togo bag, and stink eye when I asked for 2.
