If you love a smoke-free bar and servers who leave some mystery to the imagination as much as we do, you should give this place a go. Also, amazing food.
The pretzels are fried and served with Guinness beer cheese. I don't like drinking Guinness, but the dish was delicious and I contemplated licking the cheese cup - ultimately, my manners kicked in and I did not. However, the Pat-chick sandwich had me licking my fingers. It wasn't encrusted in cheese like the menu said it would be, but it was grilled to perfection and topped with a flavorful parmesan ranch sauce. I don't think I would want it encrusted with anything simply because it was so good as it was.
Did I mention the chips are homemade? This excited me. I have food allergies that prevent me from eating commercially made chips, so I was in heaven. We ordered another cup of beer cheese to go with them, but the chips were so tasty that I didn't want to drown them in sauce.
Our server was pleasant, all smiles, and attentive, but not overly so. I've worked in food service, so she's either a really good actress or The Irish Gypsy is a great place to work.
There are multiple TVs, a projection screen, and video games. Booth, table, or bar seating, and a large selection of beer on tap. 5-stars and looking forward...
Read moreAdmittedly, I’ve been sleeping on trying this place for the last 6 months. I drove by it, I saw it in beer magazine, it won a bunch of awards… I was intrigued. I was bewildered. I went…. I was blown away. The service was incredible, attentive, and union?! I had no clue. The drinks/beer were decently priced.. the atmosphere was unmatched, and the food was out of this world. The make their chips in house. The Irish nachos were tied with the bang bang style voodoo shrimp… for the best part of the meal. The French dip was soft and moist…. and delicious, the 50/50 burger was juicy and flavorful. The owner Denny was welcoming and shared his knowledge of the scene openly and without judgment. He was quick to recommend other places without hesitation, and firmly believes that a rising tide lifts all boats when it comes to a great bar scene. 5 stars is not enough.
Pro tip. Get yourself some egg rolls with the gypsy sauce!
Pro Tip 2. It’s adults only...
Read moreWe were pleasantly surprised with our first visit to The Irish Gypsy. We're not close to this area but had an errand to run nearby, and so on a whim we stopped in for lunch. The bar itself was nicely decorated and very clean. It's an open concept design with open seating surrounding the central bar. I really liked the décor; plenty of newer and vintage beer advertisements and signs.
The Food: I can honestly confess that we cleaned every single plate. From the housemade chips and beer cheese to my house salad (the house dressing is really tasty) and my husband's steak sandwich (a delicious, signature menu item) we enjoyed everything we ate.
The Service: Very friendly and attentive!
We will surely return the next time we're in the area and are craving some good Irish pub foods. They have a Moonshine and Whisky flight that sounds interesting, and plenty of other Irish food staples that we'd...
