DO NOT GET YOUR DEER PROCESSED HERE. I cannot speak to their meat market aside from their deer processing, that aspect looked very nice and clean. However, i have multiple complaints about their deer processing. Their prices are reasonable and the quality of their products and cuts were very good. Those are the only positives i have. I had a deer processed, basic cut, some jalapeno snack sticks, and the rest ground into burger with added pork fat. I was charged for 7lbs of pork fat, before the deer was even touched, and was told they estimate...hmm, ok. By this math, if they use an 80/20 ratio, i should have roughly 30-35lbs of ground burger. When i picked up my deer, i had 16lbs of burger. When i asked about why i charged for 7lbs of pork fat, the response was, "well we estimate, but we MAKE SURE that you get the amount you pay for. " Ummm, how? So youre stealing someone elses deer meat bc you over estimated mine? If that were the case, the math still doesnt add up as i should have way more burger. Then he changed it to, "well, we mix heavy on the fat" Heavy on the fat? 7lbs of fat to 16lbs of total finished ground? Thats almost 50/50, NO ONE DOES THAT. i finally stopped arguing bc it was only around $10, whatever, not worth my time. Got home, and saw my jalapeno cheddar snack sticks was only HALF of my order, the other half was pepper jack. These were still good, so i ate them, but not what i wanted or ordered. Side note, my buddy took his deer here and THEY GROUND THE ENTIRE DEER!! He wanted a basic cut and sausage. They cant be trusted with deer. ...

He was tall, kind of heavy with sandy blond somewhat curly hair and a bad attitude. Thank you for giving me the owner's name. We've been coming to Rallo's for our meat ever since we've been in O'Fallon, about 20 years. It has always been a wonderful place with exceptional meat and friendly, knowledgeable people. The last time we were there, though, it was different. We were in during the week, and the people were horrible. The big kid who waited on us could have played the perfect bully in any movie. Not a smile, not a greeting, just surly. I order two .75 packages of ground chuck. He looked at me like I was crazy and was making him cranky. He said, what do you mean packaged? I said I mean packaged in freezer paper. He indignantly said, you know we have frozen pounds of ground chuck right over there. He obviously didn't want to go to the trouble of packaging this for me. But here's the thing, .75 pounds is exactly enough for two 6 oz. burgers, and that's what I wanted. He was just really rude and, yes, surly is the best word. He brightened up when I also ordered a whole pork butt. I'll tell you what, he will never wait on me again. The one nice person in the shop was this red-haired guy, and he had a smile...
Read moreI want to like this place so much but I just can not anymore. This market used to be a place of comfort for me- a comforting hometown staple. I have and always will love their food, but seeing the ways in which they have handled the pandemic is genuinely frightening. Workers without masks. Especially FOOD workers without masks. Food workers without masks or gloves. A safety hazard no matter how you look at it. No matter how good a place’s product is, seeing their blatant disregard for safety or human decency is something I can not look past. Not to mention the passive aggressive ways in which you respond to criticisms of their lack of safety in their reviews. And I quite “We have always taken our customer’s health seriously which is why we routinely receive 100% on our surprise health inspections. I notice by looking at your history that you give every business a terrible review, so we’ll cautiously consider your feedback”. Yikes. Sounds like someone is upset they got a negative review. If you put in the basic precautions to keep your customers and workers safe, people would not have a reason to leave bad reviews.
