What a find! I was told of this place from a friend and certainly a great find. Just a little under an hours drive away from me it was worth the trip. There are both up and downsides to this location. We came on a Friday night and it is on a first come first seated basis. The interior was quite dark but i believe the building could seat about 80-90 including the bar area. For me it was cramped and I'm a pretty small guy. The decor feel and overall atmosphere was nice.
Our waters and drinks were fairly quick then half hour in we finally got to place our orders. The appetizers came about 20 minutes afterwards we had the cheese curds $10, duck confit risotto $12, and 6 oysters of 2 different flavors $3/ each. Then another 25-30 minutes we finally got our main course the prime rib king size was $30 and queen was $26 paired with the au jus sauce and a raddish sauce. Hands down the better prime ribs i've ever had paired with a garlic butter linguine, a soup of the day and some bread (similar to hawiian style). So make sure you have enough time in your night planned, 8:30pm then a little past 10pm.

Atmosphere: 5 In a cabin feel, if you are seated by the windows the ac vent is below your feet it will be cold. Small tables large menus. Cleanliness: 5 Didn't have anything out of ordinary. Food Quality: 5 Amazing! I loved the food, the prime rib could easily feed 2 if i didn't have apps, about a 4x8x2 slab of meat. Juicy love it. Service: 4 I know it's hard to help every table, communication is big for me. It was hard not know what was going on. Very kind lady.

Read moreAugust 2024 This marks our 5th year of coming here, and each year we dine here at least 3 times during our stay. Another absolutely delicious meal, service and great value for the money... This is our 2nd dinner here this trip. Prime rib was so delicious, tender, very flavorful...mashed potatoes are the best. Sadly they don't have Scallops on the menu, but it's understandable with the cost of certain foods going so high. The Gyro meal is delicious and enough for leftovers. Nick and the staff are always happy to see us on our yearly visits. Such a gem, definitely not what you'd expect from the outside. Don't forget to try the Chocolate cake and the Carrot cake...so so good.
I want to add that I've read all the reviews and find the poor ones to be extremely hard to believe, not once have we heard Nick, the owner be rude or disrespectful to staff or customers. We've never had bad service, never been disappointed in the quantity or quality of the food. Yes, it can get loud and a bit crowded but nothing unpleasant.
This about our 8th visit,(maybe more)over about a 4 year time frame. We come to Stillwater for our yearly getaway, (we stay a week at Ann Bean Mansion B&B). We have never been disappointed with, service, food, or value. Scallops are melt in your mouth delicious, steak tender, very flavorful, perfect seasoning. Everything is delicious. We tell friends, people we meet through outside acquaintances, customers at my job, my husband tells his coworkers, and clients about this gem. The picture of the dining room is only about 1/2 of the...
Read more4th time visiting here and it's been consistently ok, not great though. It's pretty small so expect to be elbow to elbow w/your neighbors. The decor is a up north cabin feel which is fine. The lighting isn't too bright or obscene. The service is excellent - super friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. The food only got 2 stars. I almost gave 1 star but to be fair the taste has always been good it's just the value for what I get. I ordered the hazelnut encrusted walleye and got this very thin and rather small piece with poor presentation (white on white with a LOT of open space on the plate). The taste of the fish was good, but it was not worth the value paid and I've tried various fish dishes off the menu over the 4 visits and its always been the same result - overpriced small serving. The salmon special was tasty and the piece was a pretty good size too. Now I should say the beef dishes I saw come out were obscenely huge - the one that came to our table was still mooing. Gross. In general it's a bit pricey for what you get (Sea Bass was $50 for a small piece for example) but the service and atmosphere make...
