Citron, An American Brasserie — Restaurant in Oak Ridge

We stayed this weekend at the JW Marriott and had breakfast at Citron, which used to be an amazing restaurant. At one time, they served breakfast, lunch and dinner but now only offer breakfast. Our meal was really just average and quite expensive for what it was. This restaurant years ago had a French bistro kind of feel with food that was expertly prepared and now it is like any average hotel eatery. Nothing special at all and charging very high prices, unfortunately. I ordered a beef hash with eggs skillet and the meat that was used was of low quality, very tough and grissly. Not appetizing at all and nothing like what you would have expected from the description on the menu. My wife had eggs with chicken sausage and the sausage had a very strong taste of an herb which we did not care for. I remember these being really good some years ago. The hotel overall has gone down in quality and this clearly shows in the restaurant. It is disappointing to see a hotel like this losing its edge but the JW and Citron are not what they used...

Amazing buffet. So grateful for the return of them post covid-19. I stayed at lakeshore reserve and walked up the hill to eat here twice.

I loved all of it.

The first server I had was very attentive and friendly; I wish I had her name but she was working on 7.12 in the morning..blonde hair with Glasses. She was perfect !

My Second server on Friday, K, was very friendly but somewhat too busy to come by my table to ask me About refills or anything really. However, I am going to give benefit of the doubt here since I asked to be sat at a booth…as I look around the dining room most of the seating areas have a booth but I’m not sure this is an excuse……

I look forward to coming here again. Marriott never...

I never like to give poor service comments, but this was bad. Our server took our order after sitting there for over 20 minutes. Wendi a server assistant noticed we didn't have any drinks and came over kindly asking if we had been helped. When we said yes, but its been a while and still waiting on drinks, she immediately got management which came over with our drinks, rectified the situation and apologized. Never saw the server again until she dropped off the check. I'm glad I didn't go with the bottomless Mimosa as I wouldn't have gotten more than 1. As we sat there watching tables come and go, I observed Wendi and her super friendly and very attentive service. She definitely deserves some...
