Wow. We got coconut chicken curry and it was disgusting. Horrible. Had a faint scent of curry but mostly we both recoiled at the horrible smell of greasy bird swimming in brownish/yellow oil. We got as far as adding rice to a bowl and spooning some malodorous liquid onto it before both of us were too grossed out by the smell to continue. One of us did taste and thank god it wasnāt me. I wouldnāt feed this to my dog. Iām serious. Will never ever order from here again. We also ordered a burrito which was average and some roti with sauce which was pretty good but came in this huge container with about 4 little pieces of bread in it....

I was so happy to find them in Oakland when I moved over 4 years ago but I have to say the quality has been in decline over the last couple years. It feels like they are more focused on production than quality. Burma Bites was just a step further in that direction... I was expecting single serve portions and pricing but what I got was tough $18 beef curry and a side of pricey coconut rice that was over portioned and not at all satisfying.
I also wanted the Tea Leaf salad but it was sold out and the alternative was like another $18 so...

I got the Superstar fries because it was the cheapest thing on the menu and the description sounded pretty delicious, describing it as a spicy, savoury, umami bomb with a condiment called balachaung. Once I started eating though, it tasted horrendous. I tossed most of it. I later learned after looking online that balachaung is made with shrimp, and I do not eat seafood. It would have been greatly helpful if the description explained what balachaung was, especially for people...
