I've had the sheer pleasure of being a patron of the Diggery Inn at 4212 Park Blvd in Oakland for a memorable span of over 16 years. It's astounding to declare, but in all that time, I've never had a meal that was anything less than perfect.
The magic of the Diggery Inn's food is truly in the details. The Inn's commitment to freshness is evident - from the fruit cut right in front of you to the baked fresh biscuits daily. Something incredibly satisfying about the crunch of a freshly cut apple or the warmth of a just-baked biscuit enhances the dining experience to an altogether different level.
Their culinary creations blend innovation with a comforting familiarity, representing the perfect equilibrium the Inn has masterfully achieved. This stalwart of the Oakland food scene never ceases to surprise and delight, journeying through the avenues of taste and coming back with something exciting each time.
However, it is not just the food that makes Diggery Inn so special, but the phenomenal staff. The ladies at the Inn are nothing short of extraordinary. Their genuine hospitality and caring service add a whole new layer of warmth to the experience. Over time, we've moved from being just staff and customers to resembling something more like a family.
Coming to Diggery Inn feels less like dining out and more like returning home. The inviting ambiance, the stellar food, and the unparalleled service provided by a team that genuinely cares about your experience make each visit an absolute joy.
Over the past 16 years, the Diggery Inn has become more than a restaurant to me. It's a cherished part of my community, a fond extension of my family, and a consistent source of culinary joy. The Diggery Inn is a beacon of genuine warmth and authenticity in a world that can often feel rushed and impersonal.
So, here's a toast to the Diggery Inn - for setting the bar high, fostering this wonderful community, and always shining in the hospitality domain. I eagerly look forward to many more years of shared laughter, phenomenal meals, and enriching experiences with you. Long may you continue to serve, inspire, and delight.
Highly recommended! An authentic...
Read moreCould be a great establishment…..but isn’t there yet.
I ordered online 5/10/23. My order was supposed to be ready at 950am. I walked to the establishment while on my break just knowing that my order would be ready at the appropriated time. I walk into the establishment and inform the cashier that I’m here to pick up the mobile order that I’ve placed. Clerk asks…”mobile order?” Then she looks to find the order. “ oh give me 15 minutes” she says. Then while I’m waiting she comes over to inform me that I can’t have part of my order and I will have to accept a substitute because it’s not 11am yet. The online menu nor the app specified that French fries aren’t available before 11am. I even paid extra for it. Then two of the three women get into an altercation in the kitchen while preparing the food. My “home fries” are microwaved and still half cold, the 2 biscuits are kinda sorta semi warm, but no butter no jelly, etc, the “grilled chicken salad” has store bought lunch meat on it. I asked for cheese, that costs extra of course ( salad only comes with boiled egg avocado, and lettuce ). I was given distilled white vinegar, and honestly …I’m not sure this is olive oil that I was given for the salad. All I’m saying is I honestly feel cheated out of my $43.00 that I paid for an omelette and a salad. AFTER I DEDUCTED THE AUTOMATIC 10% FOR GRATUITY.
I’m just saying……this could be a great place one day…….Just isn’t…..it……today is all.
One last thing……someone needs to teach the staff how to make an “omelette”…….ummm what I was given was a scramble at best. But it definitely was NOT an omelette at ALL by ANY stretch of the imagination WHATSOEVER. They just threw ingredients in egg and stirred it up literally. For the prices they charge the service needs to come...
Read moreIf I could give 10 stars I would, for this friendly local restaurant that provides delicious food. We traveled from Portland Oregon and are staying the weekend in a local AirBNB and happened upon this place because they were close and served breakfast. We returned the next morning because the food is good (especially enjoyed the huevos rancheros with a side of fresh fruit salad), and the staff is especially alert to details (for example a wobbly table that was fixed before we sat down). We learned that this is a family owned restaurant (where everyone who works there is related in some way) and they’ve been running the restaurant for over 25 years. This is...
