I visited this place on 4/25/25 and the lady behind the counter greeted a group of Mexican men with a smile and greeting before taking their order. Once it was my turn she never smiled, she didn’t greet me, all she said is “what can I get you” so I ordered 5 cinnamon twists and she looks at me and ask can I pay cash. I said sure but I didn’t hear you ask anyone else that question. I pull out a 20 dollar bill and she told me to place it on the counter. I told her no that I worked hard for this money and that she will take it from my hand. I’ve been going here for years because I live down the street but I haven’t been here in a whole year because I was in a wreck. I don’t know if she behaved this way because she didn’t recognize me but it’s still no excuse. Black people save your money and don’t buy from here, there’s other places that will appreciate...

This is one of the few businesses residents of Millsmont can walk to easily. The owners are so friendly, and the old fashioned donuts are great. I always get the unglazed, and I always give a little crumb to my dog because she will now patiently wait for me outside. There is a refrigerator with milk and orange juice available, and there are thermoses of hot coffee waiting for you! Been going here for years now but lately I've been sensing some animosity towards black people. I haven't been here for a few months and decided to visit again but recently I'm noticing that the owner/server treats people differently. White/white passing people are greeted warmly and the engagement is open and welcoming but when a black person is being served, there's no greeting, the conversations is very clipped and unwelcoming and the overall atmosphere is uncomfortable.
