Steak Fries Oakland — Restaurant in Oakland

We walked here from our Airbnb location. The place is weird, you order take your own menu at the door and sit wherever you want. We sat and after waiting for a waiter we discovered that we had to go order our beers at the bar an pay there, and order our food at the counter and pay there. it could be better explained when you come in. I got the tofu sandwich which was so so so good, which is the reason for my 4 stars. I had a side of bean chili, which I had to pay extra because they dont allow substitutions for soups. My friend got the Obama and he said it was very bland, but the fries where good. So i guess his rating would be 3 and mine 4 LOL. Tried it based on the photos I saw on very few websites and I can say the portions are good, steak fries taste good. Location wise? pretty dangerous considering they put benches with our backs turned to alot of cars driving. They do have a parking lot which is good. If they moved locations to a safer area im sure they will have more customers. I went on a Sunday afternoon and it was dead, no one. I dont know if it's because of a Sunday? or is it always like this. Anyways it was worth the dangerous trip. I will go again when I have the steak...

Enormous portions but they scrimp on the shrimp. :( I don't think the handful of shrimp was worth the increased price to upgrade, although we did find it delicious. Next time, maybe I'll just order one without shrimp to-go, and quickly stir-fry some shrimp up at home.

I had to bust out my high school Spanish while ordering over the phone, as many of their menu options sound very similar in English (steak fries vs. steak fries with cheese/shrimp, whether regular or large sized, etc.).
