If you're in Ocala and haven't made a trip to La Michoacana yet, stop what you're doing and go experience some of the creamiest, most authentic Mexican-style gelato you'll ever taste. Seriously, it's a sweet tooth's paradise!

After leaving La Hacienda I was craving something sweet. I always pass by this place as I leave La Hacienda and so I had to give it a try.

The selection here is insane (in the best way)--so many unique flavors that make it almost impossible to choose. I sampled their Abuelita (Mexican hot chocolate vibes--rich and slightly spicy), Fruity Pebbles (childhood nostalgia in every creamy bite), and Patrón Tequila (yes, tequila in gelato form, and it's as good as it sounds!). But when it came time to make the big decision, I finally settled on Tres Leches and Ferrero Rocher--and WOW.

The Tres Leches was a dream come true: velvety, smooth, and perfectly balanced with that classic sweet milk flavor we all know and love. The bites of tres leches cake in between each bite was moist too. As for Ferrero Rocher? Absolute decadence in every bite, with just the right touch of nuttiness and chocolate goodness. Both flavors nailed it on creaminess and texture--it held up beautifully without melting too quickly. And the best part? None of that artificial sweetness. You can tell they use real ingredients.

The lady behind the counter was incredibly friendly and clearly knew her stuff. She walked me through the flavors and gave some great recommendations, which made the experience even better.

Leave my house under raining weather to pick up and enjoy some Mamey ice cream which they make quite well. However, I settled for coconut which I noticed that after a while it irritated the 16 year old server because I opted for three scoops instead of two and she had already served them. Went up to the cash register and pay for my ice cream and I handed her a $100 bill which she started calling other workers to check on the bill and ended up calling her father as well, five minutes passed And I felt quite uncomfortable about them doubting my money and eventually was shown the door,by the owner.
