This restaurant is pretty good, but certainly has much room for improvement. The decor appears traditional with beautiful pictures of Asian scenes. But they were playing loud, contemporary rock music from a laptop computer that was sitting on a table; traditional, soothing Asian music would have done wonders to improve the atmosphere. The tables were nicely draped and had lovely carved chairs, but the soy sauce bottles and salt and pepper shakers were sticky and had clearly not been cleaned in some time. The food was quite tasty, but our party of 5 was not served at the same time; each dinner dish was brought out individually, with several minutes wait time in between. Those served early could either rudely eat before the others were served, or let their food get cold as they waited for the rest of the party to receive their meals; neither option is acceptable. A server should know to bring out all of the entrees at about the same time. Our server was a young man who did not appear to have even rudimentary skills in customer service; his thoughts were clearly on something else. The menu specified that the sushi plate that one of our diners ordered would have 10 pieces, but when it was served, there was only 8 pieces on the plate. The quality of the food was acceptable; most of it tasted good, but the rice was hard. Either it was under-cooked, or had sat out long enough to get dried out. We might give it another try some other time, in hopes that our first experience was not typical for the...
Read moreI work nearby so sometimes I occasionally pick up lunch here because there isn't really a whole lot else to eat around here. It is thoroughly mediocre. Nothing super terrible to get upset over but its a little frustrating because their prices are a little higher than your average non descript hole in the wall sushi joint but they don't offer anything special. I only saw other people having lunch here once so maybe it is a front and that is why it sucks. They have a lunch special on their menu that says two rolls from the list below are $8. Unless it is a handroll then for some reason each one is $7, but they don't list handroll prices on their menu and seem offended when you ask and confused when you order a handroll. I'll probably stop eating here for a while until I forget why I was annoyed and then eat a few times and then remember again. It is that kind of place. No reason to hate them but no reason to love them, just...
Read moreSome of the best Chinese food I've ever had honestly. I live in Ocala but came to Ocoee last year to visit my brother for his birthday and we ordered from here on a whim because it was close to his house and I fell in love. Their vegetarian soy "chicken" and "beef" are delicious. The fried rice is phenomenal. I have made several visits to "see my brother" but it was really because I wanted Chinese food from this place. Ocala has a plethora of Chinese restaurants but it doesn't come close. I can't really comment on the other food from experience since all I've gotten is the fried rice and tasted the vegetarian soy beef and vegetarian soy chicken but my girlfriend got the beef lo mein and liked it and my family enjoyed the food they got from there. All in all, highly recommend. And worth the drive.
My bad. I'm under the wrong account. But I still stand...
