A very different type of Mexican food. The rice is not the traditional flavor, "Spanish rice", most are used to. It resembles and tastes similar to Rice a Roni. My wife and I were in craving red enchiladas with ground beef and an over medium egg on top. They do not make red enchiladas, only green. So we went ahead and got them. Usually at most Mexican restaurants one can't go wrong with the enchilada plates. However we both were surprised that we did not our order. Taqueria Reynosa's version of green chile is very different. Their chile had a lime taste that was very overpowering. If you love lots of lime flavor in your food, then you may love this. Unfortunately for us, we are used to the nice garlic and onion flavors in green chile sauce. Another thing we noticed right away is the chicken. It was cut in cubes. I believe it was chicken breast. Again we were in hopes of the chicken being "desmenuzada", shredded. What we did enjoy a lot was their in-house made corn tortilla chips. The nachos with ground beef were very good. Taqueria Reynosa's food is probably very good for others. But we were really just expecting flavors similar to what we grew up with. Their style of flavors and cooking are from a different part of Mexico that we aren't familiar with. They seem to be very busy, that's why we decided to go there. Again just not what we expected and pricey considering we did...
Read moreHands down this is one of the best places for tacos in the town. Street tacos piled high with toppings so good it makes the parking worth it. If you want to make parking easy on yourself park around back and just walk to this place.
So I've eaten here both when this place was just a food truck and when they moved into the building. Well the first time we came into the building my friend and I came to have dinner. We were waited on by a kind and patient Spanish speaker, whom we tried our best to order from being only able to speak English. So she brings out our taco plates and then goes and gets two more taco plates for us that we didn't think we ordered. Well after a while we tried to tell the lady we did not order the two extra plates, she was insistent we take them. We went up to pay ready to pay for the 24 tacos we were just supplyed with when the lady behind the register tells us the meal is normal priced. Turns out Tuesday is taco Tuesday and all the taco plates are doubled for the same price. So we got away with 12 tacos for about $12. It was a...
Read moreWent in three times in the past months never got a tip charge of a forced 18%. However this time we went they included a 18% charge on the receipt. We spent around 120 dollars and had to give a 20 dollar tip. Ask the front person and told us we had to pay it they couldn’t take it off. He said the menu had that information that they would forcibly make you pay 18% we looked at the menu and it did not say that. I don’t like arguing specially for 20 dollars but the way they lie into making people pay that is ridiculous. The front person also said that if you get a table for 6 and over you would have 18% tip in your receipt. Again I have the money to pay but if I hadn’t? what? Not everyone can afford to tip. If they put up a sign that said you need to pay a tip of 18% for a table of 6 an over it would be up to us the customer if we can afford a tip that big.
The food is good and the waiter was good just the fact that they lie to make you tip doesn’t sit...
