CortiLeno's — Restaurant in Oglesby

Just wanted to give a quick shout-out to the great staff at CortiLeno's...my brother and I were there yesterday from 4-1/2 hours away in Missouri to complete a Wisconsin car purchase, so we stopped in for lunch before we headed home and are sure glad we did...the service and atmosphere were both excellent and the food was fantastic! My brother had the calzone and I had pizza, a side salad, and the toasted cheese ravioli, and we both split an order of the pizza-style garlic bread (which was very tasty since you could actually taste the garlic...so many places I've been to just never seem to put any on it, yet they advertise it as "garlic bread" and unfortunately charge you as such). The bartenderess was our server and she couldn't have been more pleasant, we didn't catch her name but she had blondish hair in a pony tail, was wearing a gray tank top and jeans. Please be sure to tell her thanks for us. And thank you again to CortiLeno's, you've got a really nice place there, both inside and outside, very fun place all...

The food is above par quality for Illinois Valley bar food (which is generally pretty great, honestly). Food was ready at the time they said when I called in the order and the bartender/server was quick to get me cashed out and on my way.

The jalapeno cheese curds had at least a noticeable amount of zip from the peppers, something that an order like this can suffer from the lack of, so I was happy to see it.

Only real complaint was that I paid the $3 upcharge to get onion rings with my burger and, literally, got 5 onion rings. I mean, they were good and fried to a nice golden brown, but they wouldn't have been worth ~$1 each buying them at a state fair or food festival, let alone in a take-out order. By comparison, the other two items we ordered just got the fries (with no upcharge) and got heaping servings.

So, ya know, maybe avoid the onion...

My wife & I stopped in Oglesby for the night while traveling. We just happen to go to CortiLeno's for supper. What a great choice! Staff was very friendly. Even the cliental was friendly. The place had a great vibe to it. We decided on a pizza. It was great. Just the right amount of sauce with a generous amount of toppings. I would recommend this place for a family night out or a date night. If we would have stayed in town we would have gone back for the band that they were going to have that weekend. Great place! Very glad we stopped...
