I hate to leave bad reviews but our experience was just terrible. Three of us came in about a hour and a half before they closed. There was 3 other tables occupied. It took quite a few minutes for a hostess to come over. When she did she asked us if we were drinking alcohol, which confused us. We said probably not and she said ok I won’t give you a drink menu then. This baffled us a bit.
We then sat down and waited probably 10-15 minutes for our waitress to come take our drinks. When she came over there was no introduction or anything, she just stared at us until we said what we wanted to drink and by this point we knew what we wanted to eat so we started to give our food order and she seemed extremely frustrated and flustered.
The food menu was not what we expected from an Italian restaurant. It had some Italian dishes but was more of a pub menu with ribs, wings, sandwiches, burgers, etc.
Our appetizer was the pepperoni sticks. These were essentially tortillas rolled with barely any shredded mozzarella and a little bit of pepperoni. They were maybe pan fried but sat in a pool of fat that made them extremely soggy and not good at all. We each had one or two bites and couldn’t eat any more.
We then each had a cup of the Italian wedding soup. The soups had a thick layer of fat on top of the bowls that was not good. The broth had almost no flavor and instead of having mini meatballs in the soup it was diced up sausage. We again did not eat much of these.
Our main course took an hour to get to us even though there was almost no one there and zero take out orders. During this time our waitress never showed up to refill drinks but stood by the register on her phone looking like she did not want to be there at all.
When our dinners came out, let’s just say we were again not impressed. I had the fettuccini alfredo which had the alfredo on the bottom of the bowl and half cooked pasta sitting on top. The chicken was rubbery and almost inedible. At the very least mix the pasta in the sauce.
My wife had the lobster ravioli and there was a very odd smell from the ravioli so she did not eat much and ended up getting sick later that night.
The entire time we were having our entrees the waitress stared at our table until we waved her over to get the check. It was extremely rude and unsettling.
This was overall an extremely odd and bad experience. We will not be coming back and would not...
Read moreWe decided to try this place tonight, and when we arrived the restaurant was half empty. The hostess was friendly and seated us promptly. People started to trickle in and were seated near us. We watched as their servers came and took their drink orders, but no one came to take ours until about 15 minutes after we were seated. We were actually about to get up and leave to go somewhere else in the plaza when our server came and introduced herself. It took her another 10-15 minutes to actually bring the drinks to us (we were considering telling the hostess we were leaving because the service was so slow when the server appeared with the drinks). We placed our food order, which included two adult pasta entrees and 3 kids meals, and we waited….and waited. We did receive the salad and cup of soup that came with the entrees, and the server brought a basket of bread after we had finished eating the bread and a soup. The tables around us who had been seated after us had received their meals, paid, and left, and our food still hadn’t come.
Finally, over an hour after we were seated, the food came…well 4 out of the 5 things we ordered came. I mentioned that we were missing our toddler’s meal. By this point, our toddler is hangry so my husband took her out to the car so we wouldn’t disturb other patrons, and he didn’t even get to eat his dinner. The toddler’s meal still hadn’t come, and I asked about it again and mentioned I would like to talk to the manager. Server said she would check on the missing meal and get the manager, but 20 minutes later neither the food nor the manager had appeared at the table. I flagged down another server and explained the situation, and she assured us she would get the manager to come over. Eventually the manager did come and said she wasn’t sure why this had happened but the kitchen was “backed up.” She did comp 2 of our meals and I guess seemed sort of apologetic for the terrible service.
My soup was cold when it arrived. I really can’t even comment much on the pasta because I was so irritated about the service. I don’t think we will be giving this place...
Read moreVisited on 8/28/25, the evening of the Queen Flash concert at the Plain Amphitheater’s last 2025 concert. Our group of 5 had a reservation for 5:15pm because we were expecting the restaurant to be busy due to it being the last concert.
Bugsy’s Restaurant was 100% unprepared for the full restaurant they had on 8/28, though the amphitheater’s concert schedule should have been some clue that they needed extra wait staff. The SINGLE BARTENDER on duty took forever to get drinks out and one of our drinks had to be remade - one of the restaurant’s own martini creations were made incorrectly twice but it wasn’t worth the wait to have it remade a 3rd time. The server didn’t know the seasonal Sam Adam’s selection on draft which was ordered anyway… when it arrived the beer was filled 2” from the top of the glass.
Everyone’s food was marginal at best. Dressing requested on the side was not served on the side x2. Extra requested with a side salad wasn’t brought. The first bread delivery was clearly left out and stale or leftover. The oil dressing had next to no spices and we had to request a second serving…. The table was too long for five people to share one bread and one oil plate. This should have been obvious to any server.
Fries served with the hamburger were cold which is bad enough but they cost extra - fries aren’t included with a burger, they’re a side and cost extra. The food took too long as it was to request replacement fries and after the food came out our server was non-existent. We asked for extra napkins to be brought to the table and the server literally brought 2 of them. Had to ask for salt & pepper. No condiments brought or offered.
This was one of the worst meals and service we have had in a long time. Our server seemed like she had no idea what she was doing. She couldn’t answer food questions and once the food was delivered she disappeared. I will not be back - this restaurant was not cheap and for the money we all expected much better...
