Chef Ray's Cafe — Restaurant in Ohio

I would love to give this place 5 stars, but I was disappointed in the fact that they use bagged lettuce for their salads. It is too full of preservatives for me, and I'm sure a lot of others. Fresh lettuce please, preferably Romaine as it has some nutritional benefits to it, whereas iceberg has none. Now, let's get down to the nitty-gritty. Lol. The restroom was clean. Wasn't thrilled that it was a men/women restroom, but glad that it looked clean. Please keep it that way. 👍The restaurant also looked clean and nicely decorated. I had the grilled lemon pepper chicken with vegetables. Let me tell you, it was to die for!!! It was some of the best chicken I have ever had as a healthier option. I can't wait to go back and have some more of it! And, if I find out that they switch over to fresh lettuce, I will give them 5 stars. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 I also had unsweetened iced tea with Splenda. This cafe is great. I went here for lunch with a coworker. I'd suggest getting there before the lunch crowd. We came early and it wasn't too full but by the time we left, lunch was in full swing and it was very busy. Chef Ray's Cafe is definitely a local favorite in the area.

We ordered their potato skins as an appetizer. They were very good with cheese, sour cream, and bacon on them. Almost a meal all their own. You'll like them if you order them!

I had the steak philly sandwich minus the mushrooms and it was very good. One of the best cheesesteaks you'll find anywhere. The meat had great flavor, the peppers were good, there was plenty of cheese, and the bun was good. An all around winner. I also had onion rings as a side instead of fries and they were good.

My coworker and I are both from out of town and only here for a short time for a work assignment. The menu here has a lot of appealing sandwiches on it and we've already decided to go back again tomorrow to try...

Ok LASAGNA... portion size was excellent, salad was great, roll seemed store bought nothing fancy but fine.... Lasagna was cold in the middle...came back out a little better... But honestly nothing I'd ever recommend. Exactly 3 layers of noodles which are thin and barely noticeable. It's like a mouthful of ricotta and overly broken down meat. The OPEN FACED STEAK AND CHEESE SANDWICH was ok. Meat was tender,could use the option of adding grilled mushrooms, onions or both. But again nothing I'd recommend sadly.
