Original posted beIow.....UPDATED (since I can't respond back).....My review is not giving mixed signals as it clearly states we did like coming here and didn't mind price increases (buckets of beer started out at 6 for $18), but they got GREEDY when they started adding 18% gratuity to all TABS (as the menu stated), NOT orders....and unless they have added signage around the bar since June 7th, there is NOT disclosure of this any where besides a tiny blurb at the bottom of each menu that states TABS. We have NEVER been served here-our drinks are handed to us at the bar, not just buckets. Again---gratuity is for a service provided which we did not receive (or ever have) and clearly others feel the same (see their reviews). Staff running food out is not '18% gratuity worthy' on overpriced food especially when they just set it down, walk away, and never check back, offer anything, etc. If your staff is 'hustling' so much, why not just add an 18% increase to each item's price and use that as their tip out money. Clearly we aren't the only ones that think this is not okay (see reviews). It seems as though being passive aggressive replying back to honest reviews is your way of justifying what is going on. As I stated in my review, I did ask about it to the girl leaning on the counter taking our order behind the bar. This is the only place I have ever been to or heard of that does exactly what you are doing. Hopefully this serves as a heads up to everyone else that thinks about coming to visit. ORIGINAL---I posted this on Facebook on June 7th, but decided to copy it here too….This didn’t have options for why I do not recommend long shots, so I selected the few most relevant….my husband and I have been coming here since their soft opening 3 years ago, when they made the bar/restaurant/patio area. The owners seemed like great people, and we like supporting good people and local businesses. It was fun, good atmosphere and location, and the food offered at the time was alright. Over the past few years the prices have gone up. Again, not a big deal because we liked the location and atmosphere. Today we went there and got a bucket of beers (4 for $18) and opened a tab because we wanted to sit and look at the menu to decide food to order. Upon reading the menu we noticed in very small print at the bottom ‘all tabs will have an automatic 18% gratuity added to it’….we didn’t know that so before ordering our food we closed our beer bucket tab (that had 18% added to it). I then said I wanted to cash out our check and order food and cash out. We ordered the chunks and fries and went to cash out, auto gratuity popped up for 18% and I said ‘oh I didn’t want a tab, I’m cashing out’…the girl at the register said ‘oh automatic 18% gratuity is added to every order’….i said ‘wow that’s crazy’…and proceeded to cash out and go to our table to wait for our food. Our bill for air fried chicken and fries with auto gratuity and tax was $35! In addition it asked if I wanted to add EXTRA tip to this….for what?! We don’t have an issue tipping EVER…I’ve been a server and bartender for almost 20 years…..the difference is we go and SERVE the customer, not stand behind the counter leaning on it and hand out a bucket of beers UNOPENED to the customer that came to the counter to order. In addition we continually go and check on the customer, see how the food was, do they need more to drink, ask if they need anything extra, etc. This did not happen to us (as it never has because you go to the counter to order). However when you’re charging automatic gratuity you need to deliver the SERVICE the customer is AUTOMATICALLY being charged for with every order. We were not happy at all. There was no transparency anywhere…listed online, spoken by the workers behind the bar, even posted on the wall behind the bar! As previously stated, it’s a great atmosphere but be ready to spend some money on okay food whether you know you are or not. Just wanted others to know before arriving that they’ll be paying 18% gratuity to order and get their own...
Read moreWent in here on August 4th to do a shot 9 shots of water for those who died on this day bartender told me no they didn't care I left went to another place in Troy and was able to do that. All I want was a shot for 9 people who died on this day 5 years ago. This bar made it clear they don't care about my mental health!!!! All I wanted was a shotbof whiskey for me and a shot for those who lost their lives that night in Dayton Ohio. The way this bar made me feel for having survival guilt ptsd and mental health issues was wrong, I never asked for this I try to honor those who got killed. I never told owner or anyone this was for a game. I don't play golf wasn't there for golf. I asked for a shot of whiskey and 9 shots of water. Never asked what type of whiskey I wanted that's a lie. Also I was told to get my own water. I get it you could care less about mental health or anyone else issues. I went to other bars in troy no issues. Before you attack my mental health or myself know your facts. Thank you once again for making it clear mental health means nothing to you for you to say what you said. Nobody should have to explain a drink order. I'm not yelling at you guys like you are. I did not imply anything I am telling what was done making fun of...
Read morePaying the bill really changed the entire experience. Our family of three rented a booth, ate and drank. Undisclosed is the automatic gratuity. No bill is presented, just a total on a handheld device. Seemed a little high at $100 but wasn't really paying attention to everyone's order and not out of the ordinary for us going out. Tipped 20% and asked for receipt. Wife looked at receipt as we were departing the parking lot and noticed the automatic 18% gratuity. Never heard of auto gratuity on parties of 3, no disclosure on website, nor communicated by server or clearly stated on the menu. Food was average, required multiple requests for drinks/refills and staff's customer service was lacking. Had to figure it out on our own. Little to no assistance with starting play, obtaining range balls and pushes you to install an app that I don't want or need. I tried to call the day before our reservation to no avail. The restaurant line and golf line went unanswered. Sent an email to ask a question and never received a response. No intention of returning. Potential is there and wish I read the...
