Lakeside Grill — Restaurant in Okeechobee

The stars are for the ambiance and the service, but the lack of stars is for the food quality. The fish (blackened mahi) in the fish sandwich was cold, bun was soggy with...not sure what, I'm hoping it was pickle juice from the long-past-it's-prime pickle wedge, said pickle juice having rendered the chips below them equally soggy. My companion tried the "Impossible Burger" but kept breaking off pieces of the burger and setting it aside. "Isn't it good?" I asked. "Yeah, but...too much burger." was the answer. Weird. Lke having "Too much bacon". It's not possible. Still, she enjoyed the bun and condiments more than the burger itself. The side order of fries were very good. There was no care or attention paid to the preparation of this modest fare. I went at 8 am because I haven't been to this restaurant before and will say I will not be showing to this establishment anymore I ordered steak and eggs for 22 dollars and will say it wasn't anywhere near worth the price the meal was 2 eggs, and a steak that I asked for to be medium, with 2 slices of white toast, and homefries, I asked for the eggs cooked hard but they busted the yolks and served me a long flat egg, the steak was charred and was well done barely edible, the toast wasn't toasted and was just 2 pieces of white bread, the home fries weren't even chunks they were diced up potatoes. The waitress was very nice but didn't supply refills. The atmosphere of the restaurant felt weird and...

We are camping @ the Kissimmee Prairie Preserve State Park Campground this weekend and decided to go and see lakes Okeechobee and Istokpoga.

After we were done taking pictures of the largest lake in Florida, we got hungry. My wife, Debbie, found this place, liked the name, and we decided to stop in.

What a great find!! Not only did it have a great atmosphere and amazing food, the service was top-notch as well.

Alicia and her daughter were on point and very personable.

After all that... the portion sizes were fantastic as well.

Well worth the price.
