Pricey place, gross coffee, had to sit in a small room full of cats and complete strangers, parking was iffy & confusing, bad part of town, coffees were disgusting, felt like we were a bother to staff, a few cats had fleas, furniture was very limited & uncomfortable. Went to make the wife happy and that cost me, but oldest kid had a good time.
We spent well over $100 for our family to sit the cat enclosure then got our coffee and snacks which were just nasty. Plus snacks.
Cats were fun but a few had fleas which made my child sad. But there was a herd of cats so there were enough cats to go around between us and the strangers that were also in the glass enclosure w with us.
Staff member made us feel like we were a bother. It sucked getting bad customer service after paying a premium price.
But now that I see how nasty the owner replies to people's reviews online, I'm not surprised the cafe worker made us feel unwelcome.
I am genuinely appalled at how rude the business owner is when replying to many Google Reviews from customers. That's bad business and I wish I had read the negative reviews, and the bad business owner's responses, prior to going to this place... because I don't go to places where the owner is simply rude and demeaning to customers.
The neighborhood was bad and we were glad it was daylight. We parked on the street and it it was very unclear if we were allowed to park on the road in front of their cafe or not but thankfully we didn't get towed. It is fairly easy to commute to off the highway.
There were signs about when you could park or couldn't and what spot was no parking so it was tedious. Thankfully we all came in one vehicle as I don't know where we would have parked had we taken the wife's car and our other relative's car at the same time.
The main problem was the coffee and food, GROSS. We were also still hungry when we left which annoyed me after spending well over $100, if not $200 plus, by the time all was said and done... their snacks were so gross we threw most away, coffee was barely drinkable but better than their cookies and other stuff.
There isn't much furniture in their glass cat enclosure they let you go in with the cats and the furniture they have is uncomfortable so I left starving, with an achey painful back and butt. I barely lasted the hour and was happy to leave.
My oldest loved all the cat themed junk in the gift shop or cafe store. Thankfully that didn't cost me too much.
Wife loved the wall colors and decorations they have in the glass enclosure area.
They have a cat bridge where cats go to another enclave to poo, so the enclosure area for humans smells ok thank god. It was entertaining to see the cats trapeze on the sky bridge to get to their litter boxes in the other room.
It was awkward that strangers all go in the enclosure with the cats at the same time but we didn't want to spend even more to rent out the room for just us.
But they don't offer any sort of discount or offer to rent out the entire enclosure for your family for an hour, so you either have to awkwardly sit with complete strangers in a small room or pay hundreds for a scheduled private party.
They have some local amateur artists, I think kids, on the coffee section's wall for sale. Art is terrible but if it's made by kids it's nice that the coffee shop lets amateurs sell art while they learn to draw. They should have a sign that says what that art is so people would buy it.
Kids probably would be the target market for this place thinking it's grand and not adults who have to pay for it.
Went to please the wife but wouldn't go there again. Honestly next time we'll take our kids to the animal shelter for free instead of spending this much money then go to an actual coffee place where drinks/food is edible... and cheaper. Nice concept, unwelcoming staff,...
Read moreEdit as of April 23rd. I've been here several times, with my kids and my hubs. Every time was a wonderful experience. But one was very special. My husband and I lost our cat of 13 years, Sir, in November. It was a slow loss as we tried to figure out what was going on. My son had asked for his birthday to be at the cat cafe, so I went with my kids and met a sweet little void named Kylie. Kylie was very affectionate and cuddled with not only the other cats but with me as well. I told my husband about her when I got home. A few days later we lost our sir. Less than a week after that I decided I wanted to go to the cat cafe to get some cat therapy. I had absolutely no plans other than just cuddling them. I asked my husband if he wanted to go fully expecting him not to because he was still grieving pretty hard but he decided to go with me. As soon as we got there, Kylie curled up on his chest and would not move. He fell absolutely in love with her. I asked him if he was interested in adopting and he said he wasn't sure which was a pretty big step for him. I contacted the people for the adoption process (which are not the owners of the cafe but the rescue that provides the cats for the cafe). I will say the rescue people are not pleasant to deal with. They probably have had a lot of negative situations that have made them extremely wary of who they adopt out to and I understand that, but they were borderline extremely rude with me when I was going through the process and extremely difficult to get a hold of without going through the cafe. Luckily, I had already planned on asking for two cats because that was a requirement for them, so I adopted both Kylie and Slick (now Ryder). They are the cutest couple you ever met and I will say couple, not siblings, because they are very flirty. What's great about adopting from the cat cafe is that the cats are already used to people and used to being around other cats. They're very social and they're also used to an indoor environment with a lot of space, so adjusting to a new house is a lot easier for them than a standard adoption. Cannot imagine life without my babies now. Thank you to the cafe for offering this experience. Thank you for helping these babies find new homes. Thank you for giving people who have allergic household family members a place to go and indulge in their cat fantasies without causing their family members harm.
Original: My hubs and I went yesterday for some kitty love. We got there a little early (our appointment was at 6 p.m.) and watched the sweeties through the glass enclosure while the guests in the earlier time slot visited with their purring partners. My husband ordered a Meowtcha latte with lavender syrup and it was divine! The staff were very sweet and accommodating. They spent time explaining the shop, it's purpose, and how it works. It was a really cool setup that gave the cats autonomy to visit, or not. There were a lot of cats, as they just had a transfer of sweet babies looking for fur-ever homes. Sadly, by the time we saw them, they were pretty peopled out, as the sessions are back to back and up to 10 guests. I can't imagine how it would have been if they hadn't had the extra cats, so few interacted.
A few suggestions. Honestly, I'd prefer shorter (30 minute) sessions with less people (like 4 or 5), as only a few people got to snuggle the lap cats, and they hogged them the whole hour, while the other cats either slept or were standoffish from being over-peopled. Maybe have 2 orv3 sessions, then a break, if you dont already do that. The treat dispenser was rather loud and scared several of the cats, so it would be nice to have a...
Read moreBack on March 1st we visited for the second time. The first time we had coffee and kind of checked the place out, the second visit we scheduled to go in with the cats along with grabbing a couple of coffees.
The cafe itself is clean, well maintained, and so inviting. The employees were knowledgeable about the cats and the area and very helpful in deciding on drinks. I absolutely love their art wall that features cat art for sale by local artists!
We had a house full of animals already, including a 14 year old cat named Cookie who wanted to be the only feline princess of the house, so we truly went in just wanting to enjoy time with some cats that could use the social interaction and just have fun.
Then I was picked. By Velma. She stayed on me the entire time I was in there and didn't care if other cats tried to steal her spot or take a shot at boxing her off. She just purred and cuddled me harder. Something told me she would make a perfect sister for Cookie and a perfect edition to our house.
We left and I just couldn't stop thinking about her, I told my partner I would never forgive myself if I didn't apply to adopt her. Luckily she agreed, she could see it all over us the whole time I'd been cuddling her and knew what was coming lol.
The employees were extremely helpful with figuring out the application process and telling us what they knew of Velma's past.
By March 5th she was home with us. It only took a little longer because we had to figure out the best day to get her since we live just over an hour away.
Even with having such a long car ride, Velma seemed to know she was going to the right place. She was calm and cuddly the whole way.
Velma has grown into the diva she was always meant to be. Over the last 5 months she has become close with all her siblings, furry, feathered, and human alike, and has established a mourning routine that we are required to follow.
She gets her hair brushed, teeth brushed, face washed, ears cleaned, deodorant applied, and body spray misted. (All mostly just us pretending.) First with my partner who is typically up before me, and then the entire routine again when I get up. If it doesn't happen her whole day is just ruined.
Cookie has finally accepted and decided to tolerate her new sister. They play and cuddle, even bathing each other sometimes. I took them through a very long process though of Velma living in one room and Cookie didn't get to actually see her for weeks. Even then it was only for short times while we built up their friendship.
Now Velma comfortably cuddles any of the four dogs as well as her feathered brother, Tootles. Even the stray momma cat we found and brought in and later the two babies she gave birth to, Velma loves to play with and pick on.
She has been an amazing edition to our family and I will be forever grateful to Don't Stress Meowt for the opportunity to be Velma's mom. (Also their coffee is amazing,...
