Our family loves Mexican food and has visited dozens of such restaurants around the country. We stopped here for lunch since it was rated a 4.5 at the time on Google (and since Nic's had a line out the door). This was actually the worst (in our opinion) Mexican restaurant we had ever visited. Here are the things we disliked:
First, you place your order at the counter and seat yourself. Second, no fountain drinks are available and if you want more to drink, you wait in line again to pay for it (unless you're drinking water, where you might be able to get their attention off to the side of where you ordered). Third, we had 10 people and had a large order, which got confused by the woman who brought out our food. Several items were wrapped in paper and although we told her what each person ordered, 2 items got confused, one of which was 75% eaten before discovering the mistake. Fourth, several of the items ordered came with what looked like potato cubes mixed in with the meat like a filler. Fifth, there was nothing complimentary served like chips & salsa. Sixth, of the variety of items we ordered, none were great. The meat seemed dry.
Based on the high ratings from others, I'm sure there are some good items to order here but we didn't get any. It was so different from what we've experienced at other Mexican restaurants that we just didn't care for anything about...
Read moreJust because it says authentic or taqueria does not mean it's good. The rice is so mushy from sitting in the pan so long, so it cant be fresh. When I went to order I just wanted a chicken burrito I explained to the old lady at the counter that I just want chicken lettuce and cheese. She said no it comes with potato rice chicken and cheese. I explained to her I do not want rice or potatoes on my burrito. She just kept telling me it comes on it so finally I gave in and said put whatever. I paid $12 for a mushy burrito and a bottle of water. To top it all off I finished my burrito while there was a group of men just sitting at the table in front of me with plates everywhere they had been finished for a while but I literally just finished my burrito and she starts wiping off my table telling me to have a good day. Rushing me out the door while these other gentlemen just sat relaxing as I was trying to do. I guess I just don't understand that culture she explained to me it's a taqueria not a restaurant now I know I will never go to a taqueria again. This lady will make you feel not even human as rude as she was and...
Read moreDidn't care for the experience here. Prices aren't all listed and they make you pay for a beverage, this includes water. I've been going to taquerias for the majority of my life, and there are many, many other places I would choose to go than here. I don't mind spending money if it's worth it, but this is too much money for bland food. Carne Asada tacos (3): good portion of meat and home made tortillas were good. Meat was very, very bland. Al Pastor tacos (1) again I liked the tortillas but, the meat was way over spiced. I didn't taste any pineapple and there was an accompanying achiote based salsa on the taco. I didn't finish this item. Carne Asada burrito: ample portion but nothing to write home about. Chips and salsa: fresh and fried to order. Definitely the best part of the meal. I didn't mind paying for the chips and salsa as taquerias rarely have them. The salsa had a good flavor with heavy fresh tomato and cilantro base. Refills are not complimentary. 2 Mexican Cokes: excellent as...
