El Bucanero is a new Mexican restaurant that has just opened when the last few months (of this review). I attended because I had seen the building being remodeled into this new restaurant and had looked forward to attending when it officially opened. I finally was able to visit it after work one night and was really disappointed with the quality of the food. The tortilla chips that are brought to the table when you arrive, were very stale (hard, not crunchy) and the rice with the meal was white and did not taste like your average Mexican rice. The beans were average and the enchiladas were nothing special to write home about. The person that I went with ordered coffee to go with their meal. I was very shocked to see that, instead of making the coffee and bringing it to us, they brought her a container of instant coffee to make her own cup. This was the first time that I've ever seen that and I've been going to restaurants for years. Plus, they had several TVs turned on, one of which, they had music playing so loud, that it was hard to have a conversation. This was one of the most disappointing restaurants that I've ever been to and will not...
Read moreFood is always on point and the service ..always very well tended too 😉🤌. Servers always go out of there way to make sure your taken care of and always suggest great food options and add ons to compliment your order. They have plastic shield barriers in between the tables... allows availability of more seating options and obeys covid rules. They have hand sanitizer out at the entrance people can use, or did when we go so don't hold me to this. Tables are a little sticky cause of the varnish I believe being lifted from all the clorox they clean the tables with before the tables were not like this before covid.. but this doesn't keep us away.. we still come back cause the food is soooo good. I recommend giving them a try if you haven't been. I always have a...
Read moreService was good. I ordered ceviche and husband ordered mojara frita. Ceviche tasted okay, a bit sweet and too many tomatoes. Mojara was very bland. No flavor. Came with white rice and salad. We asked to substitute for Mexican rice and beans. Waitress said they don't offer either. We showed her where they advertise with other meal options. She stated let me see if we have it. They didn't have the Mexican rice but did have beans. So mojara came with white rice and beans. White rice was also bland, beans tasted out of a can. Had 2 michelada bucanneros with modelo. Came served in terracota mugs, mugs were chipped and cracked. Looked good, tasted good though. Dressed with 2 whole shrimps and celery each. Will be returning someday but...
