With a name like “Friends”, a section for playing pool and shuffle board, a dance floor, and a good band, I was really hoping to love this place. I tried, but there’s just no denying how terrible our experience there was.
We were looking for a fun place for our group of 10 to hang out and chat last night (Saturday), so we called the bar around 10pm to see if they had room for a group our size. The girl on the phone was rude and acted offended that we asked “if they were busy”. She said they were, but yes they had a couple tables available for parties our size. We thanked her and said we were headed her way and would arrive in just a few minutes. She responded by hanging up on us mid-sentence...
When we arrived, we found out there was a cover charge. Cash only. No ATM in sight. Thankfully (or not, in retrospect), I had enough cash for everyone to get in. We searched for the big table we were told about, but the only table available seated 6 and was positioned right by the bar. So we just dropped our stuff there and all stood around the table so we could mingle as a group. Standing; however, is apparently frowned upon, because we were yelled at by a waitress to “Move! This is a walkway!” at least 5 times.
Ordering drinks at the bar was a joke. They still use paper tickets, so don’t try to just have them run your card without opening a tab because they won’t do it until they feel they have the time. They’ll just hold onto the card until they’re ready... what? I was literally shoved out of the way numerous times by servers trying to get their drink trays refilled. (Thankfully, the girl I was knocked into was nice.) The drinks were mediocre at best and the bartenders were curt and downright rude at times. However, if you’re a white male, you probably won’t have any problems. They seemed to treat those customers very differently. #makeamericagreatagain
I get that people start to feel the pressure when they are busy, but there’s just no excuse for having such poor attitudes toward customers who paid to be there, are paying for drinks, and tipping generously. It’s completely unacceptable.
In short, “Friends” was pretty unfriendly. We...
Read moreI was looking for a new place to check out. I’m not afraid to say that the responses from management to customers has said plenty. :)
You can say anything you’d like to this account, as it is a burner.
But the many single-star reviews that claim the establishment is run poorly is mirrored through the tone and selective responses you CHOOSE to reply—only to mock and have your two cents.
Read through my burner account all you like, but I will NEVER step foot in this establishment. Sounds like some angry boomer that runs on delusions and ego.
The funny part is, all of us have at least a Bachelor’s degree, so I find myself not wanting to lower myself further to meet the staff and their (very low) standards.
First impressions are everything, and unfortunately we will be spending money elsewhere. This place sounds like a major trash hole, and I doubt anyone would want to stoop to those morals with management.
Sounds like the objective facts are: -Security laid hands on patrons (before 2 AM) to force them out the door. -Disagreed and argued with every response I’ve read, and belittled a few. Personal attacks—tacky, like I assume your stinky establishment to be. -Took a patron’s property, asked the public to take pity on (what I assume to be some old male Boomer) “This is a great place to party. Never come back.” Sounds like dialogue from an episode of Kitchen Nightmares. -No empathy, or regards to what’s been said by the reviewer.
Ban me! Tell me I’m not allowed. I’m not going. I’ve never been and I don’t ever care to step foot in the gross place. The photos look like it smells like gym socks, anyway. :) Bash this account. Like I said, I won’t be back to read it. But other (diverted) patrons might.
If they’re anything CLOSE to educated, they wouldn’t choose the ignorant excuse of giving you...
Read moreWent later in the night and happen to run into the manager who we chatted with for a while and he was rather kind and assured the group of friends I was with, could stay up to 10min until they closed (since we got there late and wanted to have a couples drinks at least)…well 30 minutes before they closed the bouncers asked us to leave, understandable, but we mentioned that we talked to the manager and he said we could stay until 1:50am (10min til close) the bouncer then told us “He doesn’t care, he is the boss” (absolutely not true after further verification) and proceeded to drag myself and my friends out of our seat violently (including a few ladies) and continued the pattern as he commanded his colleagues to follow suit as they all shoved us all out the door. (Little man syndrome) I then walked back in and talked to the manager, he was still kind and kept apologizing, but I asked him how we could improve this down the road (trying to be cordial even though it was a ridiculous situation)and he (indirectly) voiced he is powerless but verbatim said he “doesn’t have control over them” (uhhhh he is the boss sooo). Feel like this says a lot about how the “business” operates day to day. Would not...
