Best Bánh mì in Oklahoma City for sure. The bread is crispy and all the ingredients are very tasty. If you ever wonder how Bánh mì tastes like in Vietnam, then this is the only place in OKC can make it that way. Especially the bread.
Also, this place truly serves authentic food from Huế City, the old capital of Vietnam during the Nguyen Dynasty in the 1800s-1945. It was a great experience for me to try authentic Hue (Huế) food. I asked the chef/owner about the differences between her dishes and other restaurants dishes in town, she explained to me how she prepares and cooks the food to ensure the food still have authentic flavors. It was not just about food but I also learned about the rich culture of Hue City. Glad that the owners decided to keep the original recipes not Americanized their food.
I am now became their regular customer. Try their Bánh mì, Bánh bột lọc, Bánh beo chén (rice cake in tiny cups, super cute, my kids loved it), especially Bún Bò Huế (beef noodles cooked in the Hue style). I also like their drink....
Read moreI didn't't go for the service or atmosphere but the guys at the counter were friendly. I got the special combination and the chinese bbq sandwiches. The flavors were good and the ingredients seemed freshly prepared. I really wanted the bread to be fresh out of the oven and crispy but I'm not sure if they bake their own bread. It would be nice if they had an option to toast the bread. The one ingredient that I really wished was available in the sandwiches are jalapenos...there were no jalapenos in any of the sandwiches I ordered. This is a good banh mi place, the price is reasonable at $5.99 a sandwich. I hope that the stay in business for a long time. Does anyone know the special sauce that the old Braums triangle building banh mi lady used to use in her sandwiches? If any banh mi sandwich store could get the recipe for that sauce, there would be no competition...i really miss...
Read moreAbsolutely tragic display. The service and atmosphere were unremarkable as I had takeout. As you can see from the pictures, the vegetable salad(?) was so old the celery literally wilted and was rubber like in texture. I don't know how long ago that was prepared, but suffice it to say it was long enough ago for even the tomato to taste as though it had sat in the sun for a few hours. The fish sauce was actually odorless. I've had quite a bit of fish sauce, enough to figure that the serving I was given could only have expired. Even the chicken was dry and stringy, I can only hope that it was simply overcooked and not old and left out like everything else seemed to have been. This performance is one of the strongest cases for not tipping on takeout that I've seen. When World Market is less than a mile away, I can't think of any reason to recommend this...
