Went up to OKC for an overnight trip. First meal in the city were the carne asada tacos here at Trompudo’s. Just so you know, this isn’t the kind of taqueria that you would get plates and sides or appetizers. So no guacamole live or beans and rice or any of that. They’re main focus is great tacos, tortas, burritos, and tostadas. Ambience is welcoming and has a cool vibe to the place. Everything is clean and pleasant. Let me start with the corn tortilla…my goodness, so fresh and so light and delicious. The perfect corn tortilla. The asada was tender, juicy and full of flavor. I had two tacos, I was holding back. After the first bite I wanted to order more. That’s how good these were. I opted to order four more tacos to go for my son who’s in FAA Academy. He enjoyed his two tacos asada and two tacos Al pastor. I forgot to take a photo of his food. Lol it was interesting to watch him eat his tacos. He’s such a picky taco person since he lived in Texas for a long time. He definitely agrees with me that these tacos stand side by side with the best tacos we’ve ever had in Texas. How I would describe them…imagine going to your bestie’s house after school as a teenager, and his mom invited you to eat because she’s teaching his sister Howe to cook and they’re making tacos from scratch. Yeah I know, THAT good. I washed it down with an iced cold jimaica. So red and so Puckery delicious. I haven’t had Jimaica this good since visiting a friend in California who brews her own and served it iced. Yummy. My friend has the torta although I forgot which one he had. His torta had all the filling a taco would have just served in a grilled bun. Picture attached for the drool. Definitely will be coming here every time...

Highly disappointed.

I ordered the loaded nachos for $9.00. I picked asada for the meat option. It was supposed to have guacamole spread, sour cream, cheese, blanco queso and spicy beans, cilantro and onions.

I got A SPRINKLE of flavorless meat, no beans, cold queso blanco and no onions to go with 20 pounds of chips.

I asked the waitress if it was supposed to come with beans and she apologized and brought me a small cup of beans. Texture looked good but when I took a bite.. They had as much flavor as water. Who is seasoning their food?! My lord.

So I decide I’m done picking at my cold, bland soggy chips drowning in queso. A man there with a curly poofy hair style asked me how my food was and I told him not good and my feedback. He offered to make me something to go but honestly, no thank you. I am already nervous my stomach is going to come for me later. Not to mention I drove across town because I “heard” it was tasty. 😵‍💫

Their menu is limited and pretty much everything is around the same price. If the menu is small.. Maybe perfect it a...

I went in last night about 7:30 p.m through their drive thru and ordered some food. While I was ordering the lady taking my order cut me off the entire time and sounded upset. She was coughing through the intercom as she might be sick. I let it go thinking she has maybe had a rough day. I pull in to the window and she opens the window and puts her arm out without a single word. I ask her “oh excuse me how much was it?” She sighs and rolls her eyes, slams the window in my face. Was talking to the other girls about it (she thinks I didn’t hear her) and finally gives me my total. I then give her my money and she hands it to me all mad. As she was packing my food she was eating. I work at a restaurant and never in my life have I had such terrible service. That was the worst service I’ve had in my entire life. The name on my ticket was Michelle Martinez. Since you all have no phone number I was left with no choice but to write a review. I hope something gets done about this because I will never be eating here again. Hire...

I've been wanting to try this spot for at least a year now and I finally did today. LET ME TELL YOU... It did not disappoint. I had 3 tacos and a beer which hit the spot. It's the Southside so you can pretty much get a taco anywhere; however, it's been a long time since I had one as flavorful and with the perfect amount of crunch. If u don't mind paying a tiny extra per taco, then you'll really enjoy these. They have six sauces to choose from as well that vary from mild to having your nose sweat. The beer was Cold which is all u can really ask for. The vibe is nice too, with continuous music playing at a good volume where u can still talk and hear your thoughts. I only had the pleasure of meeting the young lady at the register who was also my server, but she was really nice and attentive. I can't wait to try other things on the menu soon.
