Some things to keep in mind with the reviews on here: Woo's is now located in a permanent restaurant space on NE 23rd Street as of latter 2024. The restaurant info on here hasn't been updated to reflect that, and a lot of reviews are from before as well. Woo's is now serving big, whole wings! And they also have boneless options! The prices may seem steep (though what isn't anymore), but you do get some bang for your buck. Plus, keep in mind that this is a local black-owned business in a part of town that is under constant threat of outsider gentrification. You buy here, you support the block. In my experience, the wait times can be a bit long, so that's why I order online!
I'm giving this a five star review for the most recent visit I had during the ice storm. Woo's was open when many surrounding businesses were not. While I can't speak to how common that is for Woo's, I was very thankful this time as I and multiple family members were stuck at a nearby hospital waiting room during the very long surgery of a loved one. We were hungry, and rather than deal with the long lines and uncertain food at the downstairs cafeteria, I put in an online order for Woo's. It was ready when they said it would be, and I was able to comfortably feed three people on less than $50. (I ordered carry out rather than delivery) I've definitely paid more for less. We love the signature Da'Woo sauce, and even though I'm not usually impressed by fried okra, this is some of the best I've ever had. And my mom used to make fried okra straight from the garden!
I've been a casual Woo's customer for years, and it was great to be able to count on them in this time of need....

Read moreAll in all the food was good. The fries were tasty and with a unique seasoning, the wings were ok tasted like homecooking and were filling. My issue would be the price, it was $40 to feed 2 people. We wanted the koolaid as a drink and that was only available separately so all in all we paid $43 (the koolaid was good!!). We got plain wings and I wanted a sauce to dip them in and it was $1.25 for sauce. If I would have gotten sauced wings sauce would be included so why is a single sauce being charged for? I think this is poor business practice, after spending $43 on lunch giving out a sauce would not have make or breaked the business but it did effect my perception on the overall business. The owner was there and was very friendly and personable. My advice to the owner would be, make the koolaid available as an upcharge for the meal instead of having to buy it completely separate. And stop being so stingy with the sauce when customers are already spending a considerable amount on lunch at...
