Dairy Queen Grill & Chill — Restaurant in Olathe

Very bad. Just moved nearby and was happy to see a Dairy Queen just down the street. Unfortunately, I will still have to drive for my ice cream. Maybe it was a bad night, I know it can happen, but after reading other reviews, I am thinking that it is more than a bad night. I ordered three cones: 1 small vanilla, 1 small vanilla dipped in chocolate and one medium vanilla double dipped in chocolate. Right off the bat I notice that the cones cost nearly a dollar more here than they do at my normal Dairy Queen, I’m ok with that, no problem, I get it, this land is more valuable, the rent or purchase has to be more, they have to cover for that. I’m going to guess they also must pay the employees more, that’s fine, I’m all for it, it’s just a few bucks, but it means I am going to expect at least the same level of product and service that I am accustomed with. So we pull up to the window, I pay, I am handed napkins and a receipt and I am asked to pull ahead to wait for my ice cream, I think that is a little odd seeing as I ordered something that normally seems to be prepared right away, but that’s fine, I don’t mind. There are two cars ahead of me, after a few minutes I see an employee bring two drinks to the first car, surprisingly to me, that is all they were waiting on and they pulled away, then I see a blizzard and a cone delivered to the other car in front of me. It has now been ten minutes, my kids are getting cranky, I check the time on the receipt to be sure. Then a man brings to my window, three cones, that appear to consist of: one small vanilla and two small vanilla dipped in chocolate, one does appear to be double dipped the way I prefer it, however I paid extra for a slightly larger cone, it’s not much money or product but it’s principle, I ask the man to identify which cone is a medium, he cannot. So long story slightly shorter, it took several other employees coming out and at least two different small cones delivered before I just accepted an even smaller cone and left. This place is just terrible, there is clear evidence of long-term systemic issues going on here. This unit needs a strong leader to come in here and instill some excellence in...

I almost never write reviews. So bad I decided to go to the trouble.

Slowest drive through I have ever been in. Only 4 cars in front of me. Took forever to get to the window. Then when I fiiiinally got there they had me pull forward with another two cars that were already pulled forward. Seeing this I literally set a timer on my phone. Not even exaggerating. Ordering and paying already took forever. So when I saw 3 of us pulled forward I set a timer. They aIready have my money after all.

I sat there for 16 min....... AFTER ordering and paying. I had one sandwhich and moo-latte, that's all.

At about 3 min they bring me my moolatte. At 7 min in they brought me the wrong order. With two big bags of food. I told them it wasn't mine. Leave me sitting another 3ish min. Then they come out, here it comes finally.... and nope, they ask what my order was..... Ok... I tell them my order. Another 5 min goes by. (I seriously, no joke, have a timer going) nothing. I literally CALL IN to the store from the drive though lane to finally have them give me my order a min later. And now my moolatte is half melted, didn't really want to fill myself on it sitting 14 min.

They made some attempt to correct it. Gave me extra fries and coupon. Well, I would rather just get food in a reasonable time. I don''t need/can't eat two fries on top of my sandwich and the coupons for what? To come back and take over 20 min total to get one sandwich in a not very busy drive though??? I will not be using those coupons. And who knows how long those other cars were sitting there before me.

I worked here as my first job in highschool. I know what it's like in there. I literally sat waiting longer than it takes my food to cook from a frozen patty til done.

They sent out coupons in the mail to surrounding area a few months back. Must be struggling. I...

I give this place 2 stars because it use to be consistently great all the time. In the past year or two 2019, and 2018, this business has steadyily declined to the point that every other time I come to this place my order is either incorrect or takes 20 minutes for them to serve me strips that are usually not the freshest in the world. Today I came in and spent 8 dollars for the chicken and waffles and they spent 15 minutes making it before bringing it to the wrong table and then setting it back in front of the heat lamps even though I shouted "hey im right here, is that mine?" figuring it was not mine i then proceeded to leave without having gotten a meal and having still paid the 8 dollars for the meal. I called them, clearly unsatisfied and they asked me to come back, which I did, receiving the same meal I had asked for 2 hours before, but definately lower quality, the strips were not fresh and were rushed out to me immediately along with the fries. I ate the meal anyway because I was starving from being deprived a meal 2 hours ago, but the whole time I ate this old rushed out meal I kept thinking, "I shouldve went to subway". Thanks for another botched meal Dairyqueen, ill be back for more because of limited choices reasons but step it up or my consistency of coming to Dairy Queen is definately going to lessen by a lot, it...
