I ordered from this bakery for both of my sons' birthday parties. I ordered two large cakes and a bunch of other treats. Everything looked beautiful, however, both times when we cut into the cake it was extremely dry and just crumbled into pieces. Most of the cake was thrown out and no one enjoyed it. When I picked up the order, I was given instructions to take the cake out of the fridge about 3 hours prior to cutting it which I did. The first time, I was disappointed but did not say anything to the owner because I thought it was how I cut it or some other reason. The second time around, I made sure to take pictures and send them to her. The response I got was pretty much, "sorry, but can't help you." She said that I did not take it out of the fridge early enough and it was too cold. After researching a little about why a cake would crumble, I read that there are many reasons such as over or under baking, over-mixing, lack of moisture, unbalanced recipe, etc. Most of the reasons are not from anything I could have done differently. Our family does not do big parties for our kids like this every year because they are just so expensive, so it's extremely upsetting for the cake to be a complete disaster for our past two parties. UNBELIEVABLE CAKE!!! I don't even know where to begin. This experience BEYOND exceeded our expectations. The communication was stellar. Everything was clear cut and went smoothly throughout the entire process. We got a tasting sample of 4 cakes and oh. my. god. Each flavor was insanely delicious. We ended up going with the vanilla cake with strawberry compote and whipped cream filling. Even though the other flavors we got for our samples were all delicious, this one was absolutely to die for. When I first reached out, I gave a Pinterest photo of what I had in mind for our cake. What we got in the end blew the example photo out of the water. And on top of everything, the price was SO affordable. We did some shopping around and other bakeries that we reached out to had sub-par portfolios at a higher cost.
