I came in with my two companions, eager to try this place out. We sat down with two orders of Malai chicken, one egg curry, two mango lassis (one person opted for soda), and 3 gulab jamun. We had no complaints at all. The meat was flavorful and tender, the sauces for each were very well made and delicious, and served atop generous portions of rice with naan on the side. None of us left hungry.
The spiciness level is not at all high. The egg curry is rated as "medium" and didn't even tickle after eating the whole bowl. But that's absolutely not something I'd hold against them. You do have to adjust things like heat to suit the tastes in the area you serve. Being Omaha, where there are likely people who think mayonnaise is spicy, I understand toning down the heat.
On the side items, the lassis tasted very fresh, and had a well balanced flavor that didn't suggest any old ingredients or unripe fruit had been used. For our dessert, the gulab jamun were an unexpected treat, and rounded out our meal wonderfully. I can't do it justice with my words, but if you think if it as a ball of fried cake soaking in a sweet syrup, that may give you an idea of whether or not you'd like to try it yourself.
The staff at the counter were likewise a great part of the experience. They were willing to chat with us about the food and the business, and all around seemed like great people.
This may be a quick service, casual spot with a drive through, but at the end of the visit, I walked out feeling like I had been invited into a family's home, and served a meal made with care. We'll definitely be coming...
Read moreI decided to download the app and order online. Warning- there’s a $2 “convenience” fee. I called ahead of time cuz I was going to pick it up earlier than expected so I just wanted to be nice and let them know I was going to be early. When I got there I was told to park out front and they’ll bring it out. I still waited almost 10 minutes. My drink said it was going to be a large, it was definitely a small & she said it was all that they had. I checked my bag before I left and instead of 4 hard boiled masala eggs, there was literally a scrambled egg folded over. So I called back because my son was asleep in the car so I couldn’t go inside. The man was very nice about it and explained how they ran out of eggs and I kindly asked him to just refund me for the eggs because I was expecting hard boiled eggs not a scrambled patty. When I finally got to eat my food I was kind of disappointed. The rice was oddly undercooked and some of it was crispy, and the naan tasted like store bought. The malai chicken was very interesting, not my favorite. Everything else was pretty good but definitely not for the price I paid. I was told my drink would be a large and it definitely wasn’t, and being an experienced food worker, I definitely would’ve asked the customer if they wanted scrambled eggs or a refund beforehand instead of just putting it in their bag. I probably won’t...
Read moreThe food Butter chicken: Absolutely divine. I never thought I'd crave butter chicken, but here we are. There's a smokiness to the dish I wasn't expecting, but it was a welcome guest. The sauce was a beautiful red, the chicken was juicy, and the seasoning was bringing more flavor than I had anticipated.
Rice: fluffy and ready to absorb the sauces from each main dish.
Samosas: full, fried to perfection, and almost overspiced...almost.
Kofta: enjoyed these, although they weren't my favorite item of the day. Seasoning and spices were, again, at the forefront. Wasn't disappointed.
Naan: I expected what I was given. It didn't appear to be the traditional homemade bread, but who could expect that at a place churning out so many orders at breakneck speed?
Service: The short interaction was pleasant.
Environment: Easy to navigate drive-thru. Easy exit from the location.
I'd recommend this place to anyone needing a quick fix for Indian food. It won't be the most authentic experience (corners have to be cut to keep speeds up), but it will be full of flavor and worth...
